NEWS FLASH: Crockenhill Leisure Gardeners and Allotment Association have made an important contribution to Crockenhill's achievement in coming Second in the Environmental Action Section of the Kent Village of the Year Awards 1999. As the News Shopper (November 24, 1999, p. 2) notes: "The parish does not use herbicides or pesticides and has organic allotments, attracting plenty of wildlife".

Why not rent a plot at Crockenhill's Harvestfield Allotments and enjoy the benefits of delicious fresh fruit and all year round vegetables!

  • Plots can be rented, large and small. at ridiculously cheap rents - £3.50 per annum for a 10-rod plot!
  • Do you feel safe with genetically modified crops on sale in supermarkets?!
  • Would your family prefer to grow and eat your own produce?
  • Would you welcome the opportunity of a truly healthy outdoor activity?
  • Would you like to grow varieties of vegetables which are no longer available or which come from other countries?

Are heavier crops already taking up your valuable garden space? A plot will easily accommodate your potatoes, cabbages, leeks etc.

If your appetite is whetted and you want further information about cultivating an allotment, please get in touch.

There are many opportunities to grow whatever you like - be it fruit, vegetables, and even flowers. Plot sizes can be tailored to meet your needs and the time you find available. Why not share with a friend or neighbour? The Allotment Association offers a Seed Order scheme whereby seed can be bought at roughly half the price in the garden centres. In addition, we have in stock seed of rare, forgotten varieties of vegetables which are no longer commercially available. We also assist in representing tenants' interests through the recently formed Crockenhill Parish Council Allotments Advisory Sub-Committee.

The Association is a member of the National Society of Allotment and Leisure Gardeners.
