Notes from the Swanscombe and Greenhithe QED Community Action Group Meeting January 11, 1999

1. Apologies for Absence: Rosa Halls and Councillor Defty.

2. Those Present: Pat Martin (Chair), Sylvia Savill (Town Council), Audrey Norman (Swanscombe Methodist Church), Andy Henery (Community Youth Association), Mike Pratt and Alan Cremer (Dartford Borough Council).

3. Matters Arising from the Notes of the Last Meeting:

5. Swanscombe and Greenhithe Newsletter: From the evidence so far available it appears that very few of the Newsletters were delivered. Andy Henery apologised on behalf of CYA and promised to investigate further to try to discover why this happened.

6. Swanscombe and Greenhithe Tree-Planting Scheme: The School Architect has produced a list of 350 named trees which he suggests is the right ìmixî for the school grounds. Mike and Alan have had a further meeting with North West Kent Countryside Project and have the necessary application forms for organisations to apply for their 20 free trees. The Group will deliver the forms to appropriate groups for completion and they will be returned to Alan at DBC. Mr. Ogg will be contacted to arrange dates for the planting ceremony. He will also organise the children who will do the planting and their adult "partners". When an older person is not available to a child the QED Group will endeavour to find suitable volunteers.

7. Next Meeting: The next meeting will be at 6.45 pm on March 15, 1999.
