This meeting was held to discuss outstanding projects suggested bythe group, and its future.
After considerable discussion it was decided that for the immediate future the group will concentrate more on pedal issues, i.e. cycling and walking.
It was proposed that cycling organisations in the Borough be approached with a view to asking them to organise a survey of cycling "black spots" and possible ways of resolving them.
A letter has been written to Paddy Herlihy asking for his co-operation in liaising with COGS and any other appropriate cycling body. It was agreed that after the survey is completed QED will organise a cycling "summit" to discuss any problems that are discovered. Paddy Herlihy has been asked to suggest a Council Member who is an ardent cyclist to Chair this meeting, or alternatively we could approach our MP Howard Stoate who is also a cyclist.
It was also proposed that we should write again to the Rambing Associations reminding them of the existence of the group and its terms of Reference. The group will welcome suggestions from them for ways in which we can work together.
