3) Matters arising from the Notes:

Residents welcome pack: JB has contacted JG who will be forwarding the latest information on the resident packs. JG stated that he was still interested in being involved with this project. The group also thought that other QED groups and DBC Services should be involved.

QED leaflet on Composting: Final approval by steering group will be on 24/01/01. The group also suggested that the leaflet could go onto the QED web page. Action: JB to look at Bexley's web site.

DBC were investigating the possibility of installing a shredder at Darenth Country Park. JB investigated and discovered that this was an idea put forward a few years ago by Richard Wiltshire but due to several reasons including security at the park then this idea had been dropped.

4) Local Agenda 21: BJ stated that there had been no progress on LA21 at the United Nations Group. Also the next Brach meeting would be concentrating on refugees & disarmament rather than LA21. BJ stated that the next Rio conference was next year and that the group could possibly do a related project

5) Environment Monitoring/Quality Indicators: The replacement for Duncan Philips will be starting on 29/01/01. The group also raised the issue of the Air Quality Report and the Bi-annual Environmental report. Action: JB to investigate position with regards these two reports

6) Planning Applications:

HOUSING DEVELOPMENT 00/00971/REM: The group praised DBC Planning/Environmental departments in this planning application. A condition on this application was that "Grey Water" was to be reused within this development and thus reducing clean water consumption.

Another planning application was discussed with regards to playing fields being built on old landfill sites. Action: DM to supply more information to JB so that he can investigate

7) Dartford Festival: Several issues were raised here. It was suggested that Cleanaway might like to present at the festival. The group also suggested that air quality statistics could be presented. JB will also get confirmation from the Girls Grammar School whether they could present a project. Action: JB to contact school. JP to contact Cleanaway.

8) Future Business

Talk on Waste Disposal: JP to identify potential speakers.

Group needs to think of potential businesses and education establishments that would be invited. JP stated that maybe the venue to be used could be the University of Greenwich campus (Dartford). Action: Group needs to consider the viability of this project.

9) Any Other Business

JB stated that he would discuss with Tim Lynch (Planning & Transport officer) the "Don't Choke Britain" week to see if there are any potential projects that the council can get involved with. Action: JB to circulate information with minutes.

JB will bring to each meeting a copy of the air quality data for the previous month. Action: As above.
