Minutes of Recent Meetings:

From the Dartford Festival, 1997 ...

  • Alan Hewitt from the QED Allotment Group made bird boxes from waste timber supplied by the QED Waste Management Group at the 1997 Dartford Festival - boxes which have since been installed on several of Dartford's allotment sites. The two groups have also cooperated in the supply of pallets and other waste timbers from local businesses to allotment sites for the construction of raised beds, sheds and compost bins.

Compost Corner ...

Beating the Drum for Tredegar Allotments ...

QED's Waste Management Group is running a scheme to recycle clean used sixty gallon drums donated by Gillingham's Akzo Nobel to allotment sites in the area for use as rainwater butts. All donations received are helping to bring additional land back into vegetable cultivation at Tredegar Allotments in West Dartford. The first shipment of twenty-two drums arrived in March 1999 and have been supplied to plotholders at the Tredegar, Wilmot Road and Dartford Road sites.
