| Dec 10th ~ Our ladies cross country team finished SEVEN ladies at Droitwich ~ this is the highest number of athletes we have EVER had in a single race. Indeed, this is more than we have ever managed in a SEASON before. |

| Dec 3rd ~ We have received details of the National Cross Country Championships at Herrington Country park, Sunderland on Saturday March 10th 2007. Closing date is January 15th 2007 and entry fees are £3.50 per athlete. Six men or four ladies to score for team prizes. The ladies 8km race starts at 2.15 pm - the men's 12km race starts at 3.00 pm. Please liaise with your Cross Country captains regarding entry. |

| Nov 21st ~ We have received details of the Worcestershire County Championships at Malvern Common on Saturday January 6th 2007. Closing date is December 29th and entry fees are £3 per athlete. Six men or three ladies to score for team prizes. The ladies 6km race starts at 2.15 pm - the men's 10km race starts at 2.45 pm. Please liaise with your Cross Country captains regarding entry and travel. |

| Oct 21st ~ MCAA have sent us details of the Women's Cross Country League fixtures for 2006/07. In a move that is good for us, three of the four races will be held at the same venues as the Men's League fixtures. Full details are on the Ladies X-C Page, click above. Fixtures are shown at the bottom of this page. Please inform SARAH LEWIS if you are planning to compete. |
| Oct 12th ~ MCAA have announced details of their Cross Country Championship races which are to be held at Bramcote Park, Nottingham on Saturday 18th November. The men's race is 7 miles (six to count) and the ladies is 5 miles (4 to count). If there is any interest in these relays, please let your Cross Country captains know as soon as possible (closing date is November 6). |
| Oct 7th ~ English Cross Country Association National Relays which are to be held in Mansfield have been announced - senior women's race at 1.35 pm (three legs x 3kms) and senior men's race at 2.15 pm. If there is any interest in these relays, please let your Cross Country captains know as soon as possible. |
| May 31st ~ Dates have been released for the 2006/7 Cross Country League fixtures, with venues to be confirmed at the AGM in September. The first race will be at Senneleys Park on 28th October 2006, followed by December 2nd, January 13th 2007 and February 17th - all races on Saturday afternoons. |

| January 14th ~ Congratulations to everyone who took part in to-day's Worcestershire Cross Country Championships at Droitwich. DAVID WHYMANT & LINDSAY PULLEY collected gold medals, MARIE BYRNE picked up a silver and ROGER CANAVAN & SARAH LEWIS walked off with bronze medals. Both our mens & ladies teams finished fifth. |

| January 7th ~ The third races in both the mens & womens League take place today at Aldridge. Another strong AFRC squad sees 13 men start the race, but only 11 finish. This means unfortunately that we are no longer in the "B" team competition, having failed to complete a full team this time. The club remains tenth in the League with one race to go. The ladies field an excellent five runners, and that is without Captain Sarah Lewis who is unable to attend. Well done to everybody who took part ~ one to go ! |
| December 12th ~ We have received entry forms for the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS at Parliament Hill, London on Saturday February 26th. The women's championship race is over 8kms and needs FOUR to score. The men's championship race is over 12kms and needs SIX to score. If anyone is interested please contact our Cross Country Captains SHAW PYE or SARAH LEWIS. Note however that to take part in the Nationals, we MUST have entered the Midlands Championships. Closing date for entries is Monday 8th January 2006. |
| December 9th ~ At last, the ladies results are up from Nuneaton last Saturday and are now on the Ladies Cross Country page. Cumulative results after race 2 have been calculated by AFRC and are subject to confirmation. Well done to SARAH A, RACHEL & SARAH L who are currently THIRD in the vets competition. |
| December 7th ~ Some minor adjustments to team totals from the first race resulted in our totals not adding up. These have now been updated and everything works correctly. |

| December 3rd ~ Another successful day for our men in the second League race at Droitwich. We again managed to field two full teams, despite captain Shaw Pye being away on business. Thanks to MIKE CLACKSON for helping out with the finishing admin and also to new member DAVE SCRIVEN who answered the call and tried to run despite an injury. Finishing positions are now on the Mens page. |
| November 23rd ~ The Midland Counties men's 7 mile race and women's five mile race on Saturday December 17th have been moved from Gaddesby in Leicestershire to BRAMCOTE PARK in Nottinghamshire. This is due to an excessive amount of road running at the Gaddesby course. Closing date for these races is December 2nd, so please speak to Cross Country captains SHAW PYE or SARAH LEWIS as soon as possible if you are interested. |
| November 23rd ~ Entry forms have been received for the MIDLAND CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS at Newbold Comyn in Leamington on January 28th 2006. Athletes must have a Midland qualification AND be registered with the M.C.A.A (which of course you are as a member of AFRC). The first SIX men and first FOUR ladies will count for the team results. Closing date is January 3rd 2006 - entry fee will be paid by the club. If you are interested in taking part, please contact your Cross Country captain SHAW PYE or SARAH LEWIS as soon as possible. |

| November 5th ~ What a fantastic club day at Senneleys Park today. In the Birmingham & District League, 12 club members finished, giving us two full scoring teams for the first time. Finishing order and some times are on the Mens page. We also had 4 ladies finishing in the MIdlands Womens League - again finishing order is on the Ladies page. Times & actual positions to follow asap. THANKS TO ALL THOSE WHO WENT ALONG TO SUPPORT THE CLUB ATHLETES. |

The four races are all held in conjunction with races in the men's League, and this season races one and three will be at the same venues as our own men. Full details are available on the Ladies cross Country page (click on link above) - there will be a minimum of 3 ladies needed to score at each event. | October 15th ~ We have received entry forms for the Midland Men's Seven & Women's Five Cross Country races on Saturday December 17th to be held at Gaddesby village in Leicestershire at 11.00 am. The event will incorporate the Midland Inter Counties Championship. Six to score in the men's team event, Four to score in the ladies team event. All club members are eligible for the team event - the individual event is open to all who have a Midland qualification by birth or nine month residence. Cross Country captains SHAW PYE and SARAH LEWIS have the entry forms - please contact them if you are interested in taking part. |

| Jan 15 ~ Our ladies finish 4th in the Worcestershire Championships - SARAH LEWIS (2nd F35), JANE PYE & BERNADETTE BYRNE. Our men finish 5th as Brian Humphries has to drop out with a strained back. CRAIG LEWIS, MARTIN HOWLES, NEIL CUTLER, DAVID PYE, PETE WALL and LINDSAY PULLEY (1st M65) complete the team. Well done to you all - especially medallists Sarah Lewis & Lindsay Pulley. |
