November 9 ~ After a nightmare seven days switching telephone lines and converting to a wireless internet connection, it seems that maybe to-day we have finally got things working again. Fingers crossed !
November 8 ~ Found out to-day that MARK COOPER took part in the first race of Centurion RC's winter Grand prix series last Sunday (1st) finishing as third M50 in the 5 mile race. Full details are on the RESULTS PAGE
November 8 ~ Five members head for Warwickshire and the Rugby 10 to-day : a 'one-off' race held over the former Rugby 10 road course with a start & finish at Barby Cricket Club. Despite it's name, the race is an accurate 15kms, except for the first 50 or so runners who were directed off route by the Police and did an extra 0.3 of a mile. Results are still awaited, but from provisional results at the venue, both STEVEN HAWKES and STUART HAWKES finished in the first twenty
November 8 ~ LOUISE MASSEY finishes as third F40, with CRAIG LEWIS 8th M40 at the Mad Jack's 5 in Shrewsbury to-day. ROBERT KILGOUR also completes the course : full details are on the RESULTS PAGE
November 5 ~ Those of you who knew MARK PERRY of Cobra RC will be equally shocked and saddened to learn that he passed away last Friday night (30th October) as a result of a tragic accident. Mark was only 36 years old, and was a regular at many local races, ultras and Cross Country - Mark's last race was the Senneley's Park league race where he was competing in the same Division as our club. Mark was also the mainstay of the Cobra Classic, and will of course be greatly missed by members of Cobra RC, and the wider running community. Our thoughts at this terrible time go out to mark's family, his wife and three young children
November 4 ~ OK : they're here !  The club's TWO Virgin London Marathon places have arrived, despite the postal strikes. The draw for these two club places will be made AT THE AGM on Thursday November 19th. Please note that you have to have had an entry rejected for the 2010 London Marathon, and qualify by the club rules to enter the draw. The club entries are GUARANTEED, but not free - you still have to pay your entry fee ! Can ALL those who want to go into the draw, please ensure that they inform the Club Secretary in advance of the AGM, and also ensure that they show one of the committee members their proof of rejection (letter/magazine)
November 3 ~ For those of you disappointed at the disappearance of the Quiz Night last month, we have an exciting new social event to announce. We shall be holding a Christmas Quiz and Festive Buffet at the Aggborugh Suite, Kidderminster on THURSDAY DECEMBER 17th 2009 starting at 7.45 prompt. The cost will be £7.50 to members, £10.50 for guests (the cost of the buffet) and £5.25 for children.  This event will be full of festive fun and will be ideal for all the family to attend.  Please confirm to JANE PYE that you will be attending (don't miss this !) as soon as possible. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT TAKES THE PLACE OF THE CHRISTMAS MEAL ON DECEMBER 19th AT THE GAINSBOROUGH WHICH HAS BEEN CANCELLED
November 3 ~ Thanks to Brian Smith at DKRC for the information : the Suicide Six on November 15th is now FULL !
November 3 ~ We have received entry forms for the Midland Men's 7 mile and Women's 5 mile cross country races, being held this year at Halesowen on Saturday November 28th. This is a team event, requiring six men or four ladies to register a result, but the closing date is November 16th, so you need to decide quickly if you fancy taking part. Cross Country captain IAN HALL has full details
November 2 ~ Wow ! Races are really getting there pre-race publicity in early these days : Crowle have advised that their scenic 10km (500 entries this year) will take place next year on Sunday May 9th 2010 at 11.30. Entry forms to follow
November 2 ~ Stratford-upon-Avon AC have advised that 100 of the 700 places for next year's Not The Roman IX on January 17th have already been snapped up on-line. Don't delay to get your entries in asap : this may well be the first event in the 2010 Race League, and once the places are gone, they're gone

November 2 ~ SHAW PYE finished 20th in yesterday's Stevenage Half Marathon, with daddy DAVID PYE also completing the event. Details are on the RESULTS PAGE
November 2 ~ Fortunately, the forecast winds didn't materialise, but 24 hours of heavy rain turned the 50th anniversary Derwentwater 10 into a wet sock, soggy shoe road race for RICHARD BAKER. There will be precious few opportunities to run in a 50th anniversary race : Richard claims to have beaten Commonwealth gold medallist Ron Hill MBE by over SIX minutes !Full details are on the RESULTS PAGE
October 30 ~ We have received notification already of the details for next year's 4th Blakedown Bolt which will take place on Friday June 18th 2010 at 7.15 pm. Entries are limited to 300 (race has filled up every year so far) and an entry form is available now on the race website, or in the Club File. Next year I will NOT be sending in a block booking for the club : more members entered directly than utilised the block booking of 30 entries that we had with the organisers, so if you want to take part next year, get your entries in
October 28 ~ The amended result from last week's Derby Midweek 10km (21st) is now available on the RESULTS PAGE
October 28 ~ Results from Senneleys Park are available (thanks to SIMON GREGG for the info) and can now be found on the CROSS COUNTRY PAGES, along with a report from IAN HALL on the men's event

October 24 ~ The opening race of the 2009/2010 cross country leagues took place to-day at Senneleys Park, an event unique in that it is also open to all runners, whether they be club members or not. AMAZING FEET enjoyed a solid start to the season, with nine men running for the Birmingham & District Invitation League team, and a strong turnout of five ladies for the Midland Womens League. Results to follow

October 23 ~ It was mentioned to me last night that COLIN FRANCE finished the Shuttle 10km last month (Sept 27th). For some reason Colin was listed as unattached in the results, hence our missing him when checking earlier. Colin's time has been added to the RESULTS PAGE, and the RACE LEAGUE PAGE has also been updated to reflect his finish

October 18 ~ SARAH ARMSTRONG returned to the Principality to-day to take part in the Cardiff Half Marathon. Trying to find results on the official website is impossible (more highly commendable chip-timing technology) but Sarah's details are on the RESULTS PAGE and the story of her day is on the RACE REPORTS PAGE
October 18 ~ An on-line entry form has been added to the RUNAROUND WYRE FOREST 8 PAGE to-day, should you have missed them at Pattingham to-day
October 18 ~ More copies of FEET FIRST 72 were handed out at Pattingham to-day ~ further copies will be posted out to the rest of the membership over the next few days
October 18 ~ A good turnout from club members at to-day's Bells of Pattingham Run as the popular multi-terrain race celebrates it's 20th anniversary.  RICHARD BAKER completes his 15th Bells run (and 10th in succession) while both ANDY NORRIS and JOHN AMOS notch up their 10th finish. No results yet, but GERRY SANDERS takes another giant step towards the Race League title as he stays close enough to JOHN AMOS to maintain a 5 point lead with just one race to go.

October 12 ~ After an aborted attempt to sort out our Birmingham half Marathon results last night (no clubs on the results, and no SURNAMES !) they have at least added surnames now. The eight that I know took part have all been found, and full details are on the RESULTS PAGE. If anyone else took part, please let me know : there is NO facility to locate any other FEET except by inputting every single member's name & category. One other thing ~ because of the ridiculous way the race was started, I have included chip times with the official results. Everybody's time suffered because we were held back awaiting a start - the large differences between gun and chip do NOT reflect the time to cross the line as we were not allowed to move at all !
October 11 ~ Something mentioned during a conversation before to-day's Birmingham Half Marathon prompted a search of the Bournville Leafy 10km results from last Sunday (4th). JANE PYE finished as 4th F50, hubby DAVID PYE also took part. Full details are on the RESULTS PAGE. There are also loads of photos on the Bournville Harriers website, including our intrepid pair

October 7 ~ The Wolverhampton Turkey Trot 5 miler has moved from the first Sunday in December to a new date on December 20th. They could have chosen the 13th with Sneyd not taking place, but sadly it now clashes with the Telford 10km ! Entry forms have been added to the Club File

Full details are now on the RESULTS PAGE, though it is strange that the site only shows the unofficial chip times, and not gun times
September 22 ~ Good to see MARK BAILEY back in racing mood - mark completed last Sunday's (20th) Doone Run in North Devon, 10 tough miles on tracks and coastal paths. Full details are on the RESULTS PAGE

There are only 16 places available however, so if there is any club member who is interested, please let RICHARD BAKER know as soon as possible
