| Apr 29 ~ SHAW PYE not only recorded a PB at the Stratford-upon-Avon marathon today, but also knocked 10 minutes off his own Club Record time as he recorded 2:54.24. We think this is the first time an AFRC has broken three hours for the marathon, unless of course you know better ! DAVID PYE also set a PB. Provisional details are on the RESULTS PAGE |
| Apr 29 ~ We have received notification of a number of places reserved for club athletes at this year's BUPA Great North Run on September 30th. There are only 300 places and it is a first come first served system, so you need to be quick. In order to qualify to be able to purchase a place, you must have run a half marathon in 1:25 (men) or 1:40 (women) during the last twelve months. Let RICHARD BAKER know if you are interested and have the qualifying time |
| Apr 29 ~ We have entry forms for the Shugborough relay 2007 which is on Wednesday June 20th at 7.30 in the grounds of Shugborough Hall. The course is an accurate 2 miles of tarmac and pathways, and each team consists of 4 people. AFRC has attended these relays in the past, and it is a great fun night of running - anybody keen to take part in 2007 should let RICHARD BAKER know asap - you will need to be able to arrive at Shugborough Hall in Staffs by 7.00pm on the night |
| Apr 29 ~ Entry forms collected at Uttoxeter today and in the Club File include the Potters Half in Stoke-on-Trent on June 10th, the 2nd Colin Potter Memorial 10km in Derby on Friday June 29th, South Cheshire 20 at Crewe on May 20th, St Michaels School 10km at Stone in Staffs on July 1st and the Burton 10 on May 27th. |

| Apr 26 ~ While everyone was scoring League points at Peopleton on April 1st, CRAIG LEWIS nipped off to Shropshire and has been found lurking in the results of the Wrekin fell race, 5.5 miles and 1700 feet of ascent. | Apr 26 ~ And another - the Run for Rescue 6.5 mile race and 2 mile fun run takes place in the Wyre Forest on May 20th in aid of the Forest Dog Rescue charity. This race has been organised by one of ANITA JONES' friends, so come on, get out into our home ground and support them. Entry forms are in the Club File |
| Apr 26 ~ On Saturday June 23rd is the Darrens Dash at Longtown, Herefordshire. This 7.5km multi-terrain run includes 900ft of ascent along the Offa's Dyke footpath. Entry limit is 150 - entry forms are in the Club File |
| Apr 26 ~ Yet more races slotting into the summer calendar. On Wednesday May 23rd (I know, the Champions league final) is the University of Birmingham's Racin the Basin handicap race at 6.45. Distances are 5.9 miles or 3.2 miles, and you cannot run with your watch. The 5.9 mile race heads off along the canal to and around Gas Street Basin in the City centre. Entry forms in the Club File |

This covers the Stroud Beer race 7.2 on Wednesday May 2nd, Frampton 10km on Monday July 9th, Standish Woodland Chase 10 on August 5th, Woodchester Park 8 on September 16th and Stroud Half Marathon on October 21st.
