August 30 ~ Entry forms have been received through the post today for the Coventry half marathon on Sunday October 19th : these are in the Club File
August 29 ~ It's yet another 5 mile improvement for RICHARD BAKER, who further reduces his recent times to 38.15 at Coventry's Autumnal 5 at the War Memorial Park. Details so far are on the RESULTS PAGE : full results to follow
August 27 ~ Entry forms were picked up tonight for the Conductive Education 10km & 5km in Cannon Hill Park on Sunday September 28th. These are in the Club File
August 27 ~ RICHARD BAKER is the only club representative at the fifth race in the Telford Sexarathon tonight : the Vic Musgrove Fast 5km. Unfortunately, the 'new course' for this race this year was well in excess of 5km ~ never have I heard so many runners complaining at the end of an event. August 26 ~ Entry forms received today for the Cinder Path 10km cross country race through Sutton park on October 5th. These are in the Club File
August 26 ~ With apologies to those involved, I have lost the addresses of this years new members, and have had no luck in trying to obtain them over the weekend. If those new members could e-mail me with their addresses, I will pop their club magazines in the post by return
August 26 ~ Although we haven't received entry forms, the men's National 6 Stage Road relays will be held on the same day as the Women's 4 Stage, at 1.30 pm
August 26 ~ We have received entry forms from the AAA of England for the Senior Women's 4 Stage Road Relay Championships to be held at Sutton Park on Saturday October 18th at 12 noon. Race distance is 4.315 kms each leg, and obviously four ladies are needed to make up a team. IF any of our ladies are interested in taking part, please let RICHARD BAKER know as soon as possible : entries close on Monday October 6th. The club will pay the race entry fee should anyone be interested

August 24 ~ RICHARD BAKER was the only famous blue vest out to-day, in what was possibly the only Midlands race today, the Sandwell Show 6km. This was Richard's 61st race of the 2008, meaning he has now beaten last year's final total of 60. Details are on the RESULTS PAGE :: full results to follow
August 22 ~ Results from last Tuesday's (19th) Massey Ferguson Corporate 5 have now been published - RICHARD BAKER is confirmed as 4th M50. Full details are on the RESULTS PAGE
August 21 ~ Finally, after eight months, I have had time to relaunch the club magazine FEET FIRST, and issue number 69 is already winging its way to members' doors. The first batch has been posted out tonight, with the remainder set to go tomorrow, so everyone should have their copy by the Bank Holiday weekend
August 21 ~ Sadly, we have had no volunteers to lead the final 'Guest Run' of the summer this coming Friday (22nd), so there will not be one
August 20 ~ Finally, we have an entry form for the Sneyd Christmas Pudding 10 which is confirmed for Sunday December 14th. This is the final race in the 2008 Race League, and copies of the entry form are available in the Club File
August 19 ~ A new event is scheduled for October 12th, organised by Camba Events (Warndon, Scenic Six) and based at New College Worcester (Whittington Road, Worcester). The race is approximately five miles long, multi-terrain, along country lanes, footpaths and fields through some wonderful scenery around Spetchley Hall and Deer Park. Entry forms will be available this week, and all proceeds will go to the residential college for blind & partially sighted students. Entry is £8 in advance, with a 10km/5km walk to be held in conjunction - bring the family along and they can walk while you run. PLEASE SUPPORT THIS EVENT, starting at 11.00 am
August 19 ~ RICHARD BAKER ran a four year best time for 5 miles tonight at Massey Ferguson RC's Corporate 5 in Coventry. For Richard, it was race number 60 of the year, equalling his total for the whole of 2007.  Details on the RESULTS PAGE

August 19 ~ Two familiar names were spotted in the Race The Train results from last Saturday (16th) - well done to GERRY SANDERS and ANDY NORRIS who both completed the tough 25th anniversary 14 mile race. Full details are on the RESULTS PAGE
August 18 ~ We have received entry forms in today's post for the 27th Worksop half marathon on October 26th, the Uffmoor Shuffle 10km on November 2nd and the excellent Clowne half marathon in North Derbyshire on November 23rd. All are now in the Club File

August 15 ~ It is confirmed that the 15th event in the 2008 Race League, the Suicide Six-ish, will take place on Sunday November 16th. Entry forms are now available in the Club File. Thanks to Brian Smith of DKRC for the info
August 15 ~ Well done to RACHEAL MOSS, who not only finished as second F40 in the final race of the Worcs Midweek Series on Wednesday (13th), but she also finished as second F40 for the series, having finished 2nd, 3rd, 1st and 2nd in the four races.
August 14 ~ We have received an invitation from Malvern Joggers to join them for their Pubathalon 16 mile run on Bank Holiday Monday August 25th. The 16 mile run starts at the Lamb in West Malvern at 11.00, and takes in 10 local pubs along the route (Malvern's answer to the Medoc Marathon). There are no entry fees or rules - all are welcome for a great day out, and there is a BBQ at the Lamb after the run.  Monies raised will go to Acorns Childrens Hospice
August 13 ~ Congratulations to RACHEAL MOSS who took part in tonight's Halesowen M/T 8km, the final event in this year's Worcs Midweek Series.  Racheal finished as second F40 in the race. Details are on the RESULTS PAGE : full results to come
August 13 ~ RICHARD BAKER completed his 59th race of the year tonight when he took part in the Staffs Knot 5 for the fourth year in a row. Despite progressing years, Richard recorded his fastest time in the event for the third time running. Details are on the RESULTS PAGE : full results to come
August 12 ~ CRAIG BONE has been in touch and due to work commitments, is unable to take his place in the 25th anniversary RACE THE TRAIN event this Saturday (August 16th).  If any other club member would like to run this event they are welcome to make use of Craig's entry - either contact RICHARD BAKER or speak to Craig directly
August 12 ~ Sadly, due to work and college commitments over the next few months, SHAW PYE has reluctantly stepped down as Captain of our men's Cross Country team. We are therefore looking for someone to take over from Shaw for the coming season - if anybody is interested will they please contact Club Secretary RICHARD BAKER as soon as possible. If anyone wants more information on what is involved, please speak to Shaw who will be delighted to tell you more
August 12 ~ Two new members were unanimously approved at last night's committee meeting ~ GERALDEEN LYNCH and MARK COOPER become the 78th and 79th members of AFRC. We wish both a long and happy association with our club

August 6 ~ Well done to RACHEL WARD and LOUISE MASSEY who both completed the Worcester Sprint Triathlon last Sunday (3rd) at Droitwich. Details are on the RESULTS PAGE

Setting The Pace is the glossy newsletter from England Athletics for the West Midlands and includes articles on the Kidderminster & Stourport AC club fire and Oswestry Olympians track appeal. Half a dozen copies are available in the Club File - if you want one, just take it
August 4 ~ Provisional results from Tenbury are up : 17 FEET completed the race with DAVID WHYMANT again the pick of the bunch finishing as M60 Champion.  Seven others recorded top five category places, and another four finished with top ten category places. Full details are on the RESULTS PAGE
August 3 ~ Further entry forms added to the Club File today for the Shuttle/Mercer 10km on September 14th, and the fourth Hatton (near Warwick) multi-terrain 5 on September 28th
August 3 ~ Ian also confirmed that the 2008 County multi-terrain Championship will be held in conjunction with the Uffmoor Shuffle at Halesowen, which is to take place on November 9th (tbc)
August 3 ~ Ian Clarke confirmed today that he is still working on the county championship results from the Malvern Half Marathon and will let us know in due course who won what. Watch this space
August 3 ~ As you would expect, a large turnout in the famous blue vests at today's Tenbury 10km with full results to follow
August 2 ~ On what was a totally useless Saturday evening on TV, with even channel surfing the Sky channels proving a useless exercise, I finally hit upon SC4 (?) - a Welsh language station, which was showing a mountain race. This turned out to be last Saturday's (26th July) Snowdon Mountain race, a 10 mile up to the summit and back down event. Imagine my total shock to then see a club vest walk behind the leader who was being interviewed at the finish !! On further investigation, it seems our club had FOUR athletes in this prestigious race, all of whom completed the event, but none of whom had actually let me know !!!!  So, well done to PHIL WEBER, CRAIG LEWIS, PETER TROW and SARAH LEWIS - details are now on the RESULTS PAGE
August 2 ~ We have added the following entry forms to the Club File : Sandwell Trust Show 6km race on August 24th, Birchfield Summer 10km on Wednesday August 27th (this race apparently cancelled from July 16th), Coventry Autumnal 5 on Friday August 29th, Noah's Ark Trust 5km & 10km Run to Remember in Worcester on September 21st and the Bournville Leafy 10km on October 5th
