Sadly this clashes with the Peopleton Scenic Six and the League race at Chedworth, but if you fancy a good friendly half marathon pre-London, this one is highly recommended by both Richard B and Shaw. | December 29 ~ If anyone is heading for races at Hereford on New Year's Day, Gloucester or the Forest of Dean on January 4th, or Cannock Chase on February 11th, can they please let RICHARD BAKER know as quickly as possible, so we can get Runaround Wyre Forest 8 entry forms to them for distribution at the events. Fastest on the tough three and a bit miles course in the Wyre Forest was SHAW PYE, with AMY JENNINGS the first lady to finish as well as the fastest lady on the day. Results and reports can be found on the CLUB HANDICAP PAGE : click here |
December 28 ~ Entry forms were picked up at the Wheaton Aston 10km on Saturday (27th) for the Macmillan 2009 January Jog 5km race in Newport, Shropshire on January 4th 2009, and for the March Hair Raiser 5.5 mile multi-terrain event in Perton (Wolverhampton) on March 29th 2009. Both are in the Club File
December 28 ~ The second of those statistical targets is met as RICHARD BAKER completes race number 80 for the year at the Massey Ferguson RC promoted Christmas Pace race in Coventry. Runners had to predict a time for the 3.55 mile course and run without their watches. Richard ran 59 seconds quicker than he predicted despite racing yesterday, but finished seventh in the race. Full details on the RESULTS PAGE
December 28 ~ Two major records to-day as the numbers finally add up : firstly, the club website has to-day registered it's 100,000 'hit' since the counter was added on October 7th 2004. That's roughly 25,000 visits per year, or something in the region of 500 per week !

December 23 ~ Just to let everybody know that the Club Diaries for 2009 HAVE been ordered, but will be late arriving - they should be here for distribution at the Presentation Evening on January 16th. Please be patient
December 23 ~ This one hasn't been easy ! Both RACHEAL MOSS and SUZANNE DUNN were missed off last Sunday's Sneyd 10 results, though both were there - I watched Racheal pull away from me after the start, and I watched Suzanne finish. Two e-mails were sent to the race organisers, then Brian Smith at DKRC sent us a revised results listing including both girls from his photos (thanks Brian). We then received a reply from Sneyd Striders, and they had included Suzanne in the results, but not Racheal. Their new results also had a number of our finishers in a slightly lower position than originally. So, on the RESULTS PAGE, is the best I can do given various pieces of different information, but at least everyone is now listed
December 22 ~ The first two voting slips have been received back for this year's Runner of the Year Awards : CRAIG & SARAH LEWIS are those quick off the mark. Please follow their example and return your slips/e-mails to RICHARD BAKER as soon as possible
