| February 29 ~ Fancy running a marathon, but not all in one go ? Coventry Godiva Harriers are offering you the chance with their Marathon Tour of Coventry and Warwickshire spread over 5 races in 9 days. A five miler on April 27th, then a 4.2km time trial on Friday May 2nd, 10km on Saturday May 3rd, 10km on May 4th and a 10km on Monday May 5th. Entry fee is £30 and you'll get a souvenir tee shirt and a finishers memento. Entry forms are in the Club File |
| February 29 ~ If you've had enough of the Dudley-Kingswinford 10km and the queues to get off the car park afterwards, why not try the Stroud Beer race instead on Wednesday May 7th ? Slightly longer than D-K at 7.2 miles, this one offers a free half pint of beer to the first 100 finishers. Forms are in the Club File. We have also added forms for the ZYCKO Fairford 10km road race in Gloucestershire on June 1st (same day as Warndon Villages) |

Race start is at mid-day and on the day entries are £15 - start time from B43 would be around 7.30 |

| February 17 ~ CRAIG BONE and PETER TROW take part in the third and final 15km race of the Mallards Pike Winter Trail Series. Results are up on the RESULTS PAGE. Craig finished the race as second M40 ~ we are still awaiting the final series result |
| February 17 ~ JULIE DRAPER is once again tackling the Flora London Marathon in April, raising funds for the Cats Protection charity in Worcester. As part of her fund raising efforts, Julie is organising a General Knowledge Quiz this coming Saturday (23rd) at Sytchampton Community Centre near Ombersley. Entry fee is £3 per person, teams of 4. There will be a raffle, and you are welcome to bring along your own drinks & nibbles. PLEASE RING JULIE ASAP TO BOOK YOUR TEAM IN. Future events include a Fashion Show at Areley Kings Village Hall on Friday March 28th and a 'Snail' Race Night (sounds like my comeback race today) at Sytchampton Community Centre on Saturday April 5th. | February 17 ~ Entry forms were also picked up today for the Wrekin Barrel Race 2008 on May 18th. The challenge is to get a full 9 gallon barrel from the bottom of the Wrekin to the top via a defined route (1.5 miles/1000 feet of ascent) ~ winners usually take about 20 minutes. | February 16 ~ We have received a number of entry forms which have been added to the Club File. the second Wombourne 10km Spring Classic on April 6th, the Cure Leukaemia 10km & 5km in Sutton Park on May 18th and the Dymock Half Marathon on May 25th |
| February 13 ~ There are loads of kind comments on the Runners World website following Sunday's 12th ROC 8. There is also a nice report on the Bournville Harriers website - thanks to ELLIE HOOPER for notifying us of this one |
| February 13 ~ SIMON GREGG and IAN HALL are leading a long training run (approx 16 miles) this coming Saturday (16th) starting from the Land Oak at 8.00 am. Anybody is welcome to join them, but Simon or Ian would appreciate a quick call in advance so that nobody gets left behind |
| February 12 ~ Results are now in from the ladies cross country League race at Gloucester on Saturday (9th). Some great performances from our 8 ladies, and good to see both JEAN MAFFEI and SARAH LEWIS returning from injury to run. An excellent 11th place overall finish to the season out of 18 clubs who managed to complete all four races. Details are on the RESULTS PAGE |

| February 11 ~ Results are now available for the men's cross country league race at Stafford Common on Saturday (9th). AFRC finished seventh on the day, but also managed to move up one place to finish the season 7th out of the 13 clubs. This is our highest ever finish in the League - well done to everyone who took part in the four races, and of course to our captain SHAW PYE. Full details are on the RESULTS PAGE. | February 10 ~ A great day at the ROC Fencing Wyre Forest 8 today. The sun shone on a windless day, 285 finishers completed the course, DAVE MANSBRIDGE of Telford AC won for the fourth time and EMMA GOODERHAM of Malvern Joggers was the first lady home. | February 10 ~ From comments made at today's ROC 8, seems that AFRC had 8 men and 8 ladies out at yesterday's Cross Country races - a great turnout, especially for the ladies. It was also mentioned that we came 7th in the mens event, but no further information is available |

| February 5 ~ Stourbridge Stagger results have now been amended, with LOUISE MASSEY now in her rightful position just ahead of RACHEL WARD. Louise finished as fifth lady (AMAZING FEET RC had the third/fifth & sixth female finishers, but sadly no team prizes) and was also the F40 Champion ! Amended positions are now up on the RESULTS PAGE |

| February 5 ~ We have received an e-mail today asking for teams or individuals to run the JW Ultra and Relay on Saturday September 27th. This is a 30 mile race along the canals from Stratford-upon-Avon to Bournville, or it can be tackled as a 3 x 10 mile legs relay race. If anyone is interested in taking part either as an individual or part of the relay, please let RICHARD BAKER know asap - places are limited due to the narrow towpaths |
| February 5 ~ Sadly once again, it looks as though we have only 31 marshals confirmed for Sunday's ROC 8. This is really unacceptable out of a club membership of 73 + partners, and race organisers would again ask (beg ?) all members to put off what they are doing instead if possible and come along on Sunday for four hours to help the club out. Your subsidised social events, club kit, club magazine etc is all paid for from the proceeds of our race promotions !!!!! |
| February 5 ~ It seems there are errors (or an error) in the Stagger results, as club members advise that LOUISE MASSEY finished just in front of RACHEL WARD, but is listed further back in the official results. The updated League tables will therefore be delayed until Stourbridge RC are able to look into this |
| February 5 ~ Three new members were approved at last night's committee meeting : JAMES GREEN has finally paid his membership fees and becomes member number 71, while ANDREW GIBBS and GEORGE BLANCHARD who have been training with us recently on Wednesday nights become members 72 and 73. All three are warmly welcomed into AMAZING FEET RC |

| February 4 ~ Not worth travelling to a 10 mile multi-terrain race for these two ::: RICHARD HAYNES and ROGER CANAVAN both completed the 11 mile Long Mynd Valleys fell race yesterday. That's 11 miles with 5000 feet of ascent ! Roger knocked 13 minutes off his 2007 time ~ full details are on the RESULTS PAGE |

Congratulations to HELEN PARISH on her third place finish in the ladies race, and well done to DAVID WHYMANT who claimed his third M60 Championship of the year. Also to CRAIG BONE, JOHN AMOS, RACHEL WARD, LOUISE MASSEY and ELLIE HOOPER who all registered top three category finishes |
| February 3 ~ Well done to everyone who took part in the third League race of 2008 at the Stourbridge Stagger. No results yet, but SHAW PYE was first home for AFRC, with HELEN PARISH first home for the ladies finishing as third lady overall. DAVID WHYMANT was our only category winner.
