Jan 31 ~ It looks as though the Halesowen Hillock is sadly no more. We have received a number of entry forms from Halesowen C&AC for a new event, the Uffmoor Shuffle on Sunday May 6th. Billed as a superb woodland course through Uffmoor Wood, entry forms are in the Club File
Jan 31 ~ The Norwich Union Grand Prix indoor athletics meeting takes place at the NIA in Birmingham on Saturday 17th February between 1.45 and 5.30 pm. UK Athletics are offering Amazing Feet members a 20% discount off ticket prices - if you are interested in this offer please speak to RICHARD BAKER for details
Jan 31 ~ We have been advised by Ian Clarke that the Stourbridge Stagger on Sunday February 4th is virtually full and there is unlikely to be any chance of entering this league race on the day
Jan 29 ~ More entry forms have been added to the Club File ~ Draycote Water 35 and Marathon on February 18th, Lacon Childe 10km on March 25th, Stafford 20 on March 11th, Westonbirt 10km trail race on Monday June 18th and Cleevewold 14 on March 25th

Jan 29 ~ After yesterday's Not The Roman 9, we have the first league table of 2007 on the INTER-CLUB RACE LEAGUE PAGE
Jan 29 ~ Congratulations to our Not The Roman 9 Champions yesterday : RACHEL WARD finished as first F45, with ELLIE HOOPER taking the F50 category title. 17 members completed the first League race of the year (up on the previous four years) with CRAIG BONE continuing where he left off in 2006 at the top of the League table. Craig has now completed 17 successive League races, JOHN AMOS made it 33 consecutive races. RUSSELL WILDING, JAMES MIDDLETON & ANDREW LANE run their first races for the club. Jan 28 ~ While trawling through various websites this evening, I spotted a club member who was out racing on Sunday January 14th. Congratulations to RICHARD HAYNES who completed the 15 mile Trig Point 15 across Cannock Chase. This was described as an undulating trail race, organised by Mercia Fell Runners. Sounds like a tough little thing. Details are on the RESULTS PAGE
Jan 28 ~ And finally ... the RACE DIARY page has been updated. Sorry it has taken so long, and some of the direct website links are not yet in place, but the fixtures are there now
Jan 28 ~ We are arranging to have a meal after the ROC 8 at the Royal Foresters pub, just down the road from the Visitor Centre. At the moment we have 26 confirmed to join us, but if more want to come along we can increase the booking to 34 and in fact take up the whole pub for the afternoon. Please let Social Secretary JANE PYE know as quickly as possible if you want to join us. Last Sunday's menu consisted of starters, traditional beef roast, roast leg of venison, shank of lamb, breast of chicken and vegetarian options, plus sweets such as spotted dick, tiramisu, chocolate pots and cherry cheesecake. PLUS you get Amazing Feet club members for company. Cost is £9.50 for one course, £11.95 for two courses or £13.95 for three courses. Come and join us - let Jane know asap
Jan 28 ~ Another excellent club turnout as at least 14 take part in the first League race of the year, the Not The Roman IX 12km at Stratford-upon-Avon. JANE PYE knocks one and a half minutes off her previous best time for 12km. No results yet, but watch this space
Jan 27 ~ New member RUSSELL WILDING will be running his first race for the club at tomorrow's Not the Roman IX in Stratford-upon-Avon. This is the first League Race of the 2007 season, and is full ~ there will be no entries taken on the day.

Jan 19 ~ 70 turn up at the Aggborough Suite for tonight's Presentation Evening. Club Handicap, Race League and Runner of the Year trophies are handed out; Cross Country and Worcs County medals are awarded; everyone is entertained by JANE PYE, STEEL GROH (GLEN & ADAM CHILDE), FLANAGAN & ALLEN (LINDSAY PULLEY & PETE WALL) and DARREN; and a sumptuous buffet is enjoyed by all. Jan 19 ~ Some excellent news as JANE PYE changes her mind and returns to the committee as Social Secretary. This is a bonus for the club in view of the excellent job she has done during the last social year
Jan 13 ~ Race three in this season's Cross Country Leagues sees both our mens and ladies teams doing well. The men compete in Division 4 of the B'ham & District Invitation League at Cofton Park in SW Birmingham, while the ladies go to Coventry and finish 12th out of 23 teams in the Midlands Womens League. Jan 12 ~ Our MCAA Race Permit is received today for the ROC Fencing Wyre Forest 8 on Sunday February 11th. Permit number is WO/07/002
Jan 11 ~ LINDSAY PULLEY has regrettably announced his resignation from the committee with immediate effect. Lindsay has been a lively and vital member of the committee for a number of years, and will be sorely missed. Lindsay is of course also the founder member of AFRC from way back in 1982. Thanks to Lindsay for all his work while serving on the committee, and we hope he will be around as a club member for many years to come.  We do now have TWO vacancies on the committee, should anyone feel they would like to come and join us

Jan 9 ~ Entry forms received through the post for the 37th Milford 21 on Sunday March 4th - this is a long established 21 mile cross country race across Cannock Chase and ideal pre-London training. forms are in the Club File
Jan 9 ~ It was also confirmed at last night's committee meeting that one of our long-term members BERNARD PRICE had re-joined for 2006/7. Great news that Bernard has continued his long association with AFRC. As a result, club membership now stands at 90
Jan 9 ~ Three new members were proposed at last night's committee meeting, and unanimously approved. Welcome to COLIN FRANCE, SCOTT DAVENPORT and RUSSELL WILDING. It is hoped that all three enjoy their running with AFRC for many years to come
Jan 8 ~ The latest club committee meeting is held at the Land Oak. Sadly JANE PYE announces that she has resigned from the committee for personal reasons so once again we are on the lookout for a Social Secretary. We would like to thank Jane for her excellent efforts during 2006 - the superb BBQ & old fashioned sports day, two Treasure Hunts and the forthcoming Presentation evening have all been down to her expertise, and she will be missed

Jan 8 ~ According to the Stratford-upon-Avon AC website, the Not the Roman IX 12 km race on Sunday January 28th is now full. This of course is the first race in the 2007 Race League
Jan 6 ~ Results are in from the County Cross Country Championships and can be found in full on the RESULTS page. Congratulations to SARAH ARMSTRONG, RACHEL WARD & RACHEAL MOSS who took the Ladies Team title : 2007 CHAMPIONS !  Top three prizes also went to SARAH ARMSTRONG who finished fifth overall (2nd F40), ELLIE HOOPER (2nd F50), JANE PYE (3rd F50) and DAVID WHYMANT (3rd M60)

Jan 5 ~ A provisional booking for sixteen places has been made with Ilam Hall for accommodation on Friday May 25th, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th to tie in with the Tour of Derwent Valley (four "little" races in four days) over the Bank Holiday weekend. Cost is £88.80 which includes bed, breakfast and evening meal for the three days. This is the one of the highlights of the club year and demand for places is sure to be high. Names and deposits of £25 to MARIE BYRNE please as soon as possible, and certainly by the Presentation Evening (January 19th) at the latest. First come, first served, so don't miss out on this excellent weekend
