| March 30 ~ League race number 6 takes place at Peopleton, with 19 club members joining a record field of 344 in the Scenic Six, organised by RICHARD BAKER's Camba Events. DAVID WHYMANT finishes as first M60, ELLIE HOOPER is first F50, and LOUISE MASSEY takes the F40 prize after finishing second in her category behind the third placed lady. | March 29 ~ SHAW PYE embarked on another mad weekend today by WINNING the Trollers Trot LDWA event in Meerbrook near to Leek in Staffs. Congratulations to Shaw on his victory over 28 miles and 5873 feet of ascent. Details are on the RESULTS PAGE |

| March 23 ~ Congratulations to SHAW PYE who finished as runner-up to Vito Graffagnino in today's Hanham horror 6 mile multi-terrain event. Great to see JANE PYE back racing again as she also completes the race. 5 FEET take part - full details are on the RESULTS PAGE |

| March 19 ~ We have received entry forms for the Shugborough Relays on Wednesday June 18th which are in the Club File. This event is a cracking mid-summer festival of running with teams of four haring round a two-mile course in the grounds of Shugborough Hall in Staffordshire. Any club members are welcome to take part - team categories include open male & female, mixed vets, super vets and ultra vets (total team age over 240 years old). If anyone is interested, further details from RICHARD BAKER, but do be aware YOU HAVE TO BE AT SHUGBOROUGH HALL AND READY TO RUN BY 7.15 LATEST |
| March 19 ~ There are still some issues with the Rhayader results (Pete Trow is recorded in 8th position for the club, but definitely didn't run) so the latest Race League positions cannot be calculated until we are sure the results are correct |

| March 16 ~ We have received details of a NEW event taking place on July 13th - the first Urbanathlon to take place in Europe will be held in east Manchester. This should appeal to anyone who fancies fording the River Medlock, climbing over cars and negotiating fallen trees ???? There are 13 obstacles in all - more information at www.urbanathlon.co.uk. Please do note that this is the date of the Sweatshop half marathon - so club members would be required elsewhere !!! |

| March 15 ~ SARAH ARMSTRONG made it a hat-trick of appearances selected for Worcestershire at today's Inter-County Cross Country Championships at Nottingham. Sarah finished fifth for the County in a slightly quicker time than in 2007. Sadly the county couldn't find six senior ladies to score points, and therefore failed to register a finish. | March 15 ~ We have received from Stroud & District AC a copy of their race programme for 2008, which includes the Stroud Beer 7.2 on Wednesday May 7th, Frampton 10km on Monday July 14th, Standish Woodland Chase on August 17th, Woodchester Park M/T 8 on September 14th and the 27th Stroud half marathon on October 26th. An entry form is included on the programme, and copies are in the Club File |

| March 13 ~ We have received entry forms for the Westonbirt Arboretum 10km in Gloucestershire on Tuesday June 9th. RICHARD BAKER ran this event in 2007 and highly recommends it - "a great race on forest trails with a memento AND a tree to all finishers (mine died before Christmas)". Forms are in the Club File |
| March 12 ~ Received official Treat results from K&S AC today, showing clearly that our Ladies Team easily won the team event last Sunday (9th). Well done to LOUISE MASSEY, JEAN MAFFEI and ANITA JONES |
| March 12 ~ We have been advised by Dursley & District AC that the Berkeley 10km beer race has returned to the racing calendar in 2008 on Monday May 12th. Entry forms are available in the Club File |
| March 11 ~ The club is looking to head north in August for a weekend away, taking in the Morecambe Bay half marathon on Sunday 10th August. The general idea is that we would spend the weekend in the area, camping or B&B, taking in the race OR the accompanying 8 mile walk on the Sunday. Malvern Joggers are likely to be there with us, making it an excellent social weekend as well. IF YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED, please let JANE PYE know as soon as possible, so we can look further into the arrangements. | March 5 ~ SIMON GREGG is offering to take a long training run out next Saturday (March 8th) from the Land Oak, starting at eight o'clock. probable route is Land Oak : Hagley : Clent : Clent Hills :out over Haley Green side : back via Hagley : Birmingham Road : Land Oak. The distance is approximately 16 miles. If anyone is interested, can you please confirm your interest to Simon asap. | March 3 ~ All those who have entered the Scenic Six on March 30th, don't fret - your race packs and numbers are ready, but RICHARD BAKER is trying to save your stamped addressed envelopes for future use. He will have them with him hopefully at training on Wednesday, and at the Treat on Sunday to hand over. Those still unclaimed after Sunday will be posted out next week (10th) |

RICHARD BAKER did this one last year and recalls "a fast two lap course through Darley Abbey and Park, well organised and with a superb tee-shirt and bar & barbecue afterwards". | March 3 ~ OK. Are we looking at a "Madness of the Year" award next ??? Forget RICHARD BAKER and PETER TROW. SHAW PYE has now claimed the I'm madder than you prize for the weekend. Saturday : up at 3.00 am for a drive to Threshfield in Yorkshire where he ran/navigated the Trollers Trot 25 mile event finishing third ! Then on Sunday, it was the Gloucester 20, where he set a PB, came 18th (and sixth senior male) and set a new club record. Mad ? Possibly. Brilliant ? Definitely. Details are on the RESULTS PAGE |

| March 1 ~ We have a rival to match the madness of Club Secretary RICHARD BAKER. PETER TROW went to London today to watch the Arsenal vs Aston Villa game - not madness in itself ! However, Peter left home at FIVE O'CLOCK to take part in the Sri Chinmoy Self Transcendence 10 mile race in Battersea Park at 7.45 am before heading for the Emirates Stadium. Peter's result is on the RESULTS PAGE. Aston Villa drew 1-1 |
