AMAZING FEET RC : LATEST NEWS ARCHIVE ~ OCTOBER 2009

October 30 ~ We have received notification already of the details for next year's 4th Blakedown Bolt which will take place on Friday June 18th 2010 at 7.15 pm. Entries are limited to 300 (race has filled up every year so far) and an entry form is available now on the race website, or in the Club File. Next year I will NOT be sending in a block booking for the club : more members entered directly than utilised the block booking of 30 entries that we had with the organisers, so if you want to take part next year, get your entries in
October 28 ~ The amended result from last week's Derby Midweek 10km (21st) is now available on the RESULTS PAGE
October 28 ~ Results from Senneleys Park are available (thanks to SIMON GREGG for the info) and can now be found on the CROSS COUNTRY PAGES, along with a report from IAN HALL on the men's event
October 25 ~ Another half marathon for RICHARD BAKER : this time he returns to a sub 1:50 time at the sixth Coventry Half Marathon. Details are on the RESULTS PAGE
October 24 ~ The opening race of the 2009/2010 cross country leagues took place to-day at Senneleys Park, an event unique in that it is also open to all runners, whether they be club members or not. AMAZING FEET enjoyed a solid start to the season, with nine men running for the Birmingham & District Invitation League team, and a strong turnout of five ladies for the Midland Womens League. Results to follow

October 23 ~ One new member was unanimously approved at last night's committee meeting ~ welcome to STUART HAWKES who becomes our 70th member. Worcestershire-born Stuart is the brother of Steven Hawkes, and should go straight into action on Saturday at the cross country fixture in Senneleys Park
October 23 ~ It was mentioned to me last night that COLIN FRANCE finished the Shuttle 10km last month (Sept 27th). For some reason Colin was listed as unattached in the results, hence our missing him when checking earlier. October 22 ~ After last month's postponed committee meeting, all four members of the committee met at the Railway Bell pub last night
October 22 ~ Results from last night's Derby Midweek 5km are available and full details are on the RESULTS PAGE. Richard's official time is however 25 seconds faster than his own watch time, so there may be an amendment to follow
October 21 ~ Entry forms for the Not The Roman IX 12km race in Stratford-upon-Avon on Sunday January 17th 2010 were received tonight. This will probably be the first event in the 2010 race League, and always fills up quickly, so it is worth getting your entries in as soon as possible. Copies are in the Club Entry Form File
October 21 ~ Despite sore knees and a heavy cold, RICHARD BAKER notched up his 50th race of the year tonight at the Derby Midweek 5km
October 21 ~ A large number of FEET FIRST 72 magazines were sent out to members to-day by first class post and should beat the postal strike. the rest will go out over the weekend
October 20 ~ Results from Sunday's Bells of Pattingham Run are now up : well done to DAVID WHYMANT who finished as third M60. Full details are on the RESULTS PAGE
October 18 ~ SARAH ARMSTRONG returned to the Principality to-day to take part in the Cardiff Half Marathon. Trying to find results on the official website is impossible (more highly commendable chip-timing technology) but Sarah's details are on the RESULTS PAGE and the story of her day is on the RACE REPORTS PAGE
October 18 ~ An on-line entry form has been added to the RUNAROUND WYRE FOREST 8 PAGE to-day, should you have missed them at Pattingham to-day
October 18 ~ More copies of FEET FIRST 72 were handed out at Pattingham to-day ~ further copies will be posted out to the rest of the membership over the next few days
October 18 ~ A good turnout from club members at to-day's Bells of Pattingham Run as the popular multi-terrain race celebrates it's 20th anniversary.  RICHARD BAKER completes his 15th Bells run (and 10th in succession) while both ANDY NORRIS and JOHN AMOS notch up their 10th finish. No results yet, but GERRY SANDERS takes another giant step towards the Race League title as he stays close enough to JOHN AMOS to maintain a 5 point lead with just one race to go.
October 17 ~ Catching up on some previous results to-day : MARK COOPER ran in the Noah's Ark Trust 10km on September 20th, and in the Walsall Rotary 10km on September 27th. Details from both are now on the RESULTS PAGE. DAVID WHYMANT completed the Waseley Wobbler (formerly the North Worcs 8) on October 4th as third M60. JEAN MAFFEI also ran in the event. Again, full details are on the RESULTS PAGE

October 17 ~ The first copy of FEET FIRST 72 is handed out to PETER TROW at Villa Park to-day. Those who are not at Pattingham will receive their copies through the post next week

October 12 ~ After an aborted attempt to sort out our Birmingham half Marathon results last night (no clubs on the results, and no SURNAMES !) they have at least added surnames now. The eight that I know took part have all been found, and full details are on the RESULTS PAGE. If anyone else took part, please let me know : there is NO facility to locate any other FEET except by inputting every single member's name & category. One other thing ~ because of the ridiculous way the race was started, I have included chip times with the official results. Everybody's time suffered because we were held back awaiting a start - the large differences between gun and chip do NOT reflect the time to cross the line as we were not allowed to move at all !
October 11 ~ Something mentioned during a conversation before to-day's Birmingham Half Marathon prompted a search of the Bournville Leafy 10km results from last Sunday (4th). JANE PYE finished as 4th F50, hubby DAVID PYE also took part. Full details are on the RESULTS PAGE. There are also loads of photos on the Bournville Harriers website, including our intrepid pair
October 11 ~ A good turnout of FEET made the short journey up to Birmingham to take part in the second EDF Birmingham Half Marathon to-day. No results available yet, but watch this space. Great to see ELLIE HOOPER on the roadside in Bournville cheering us on (though it will be even nicer to see Ellie running again one day soon)
October 10 ~ Four club members made the trip to Malvern to-day and completed the tough seven-mile Worcestershire Beacon Race. SARAH ARMSTRONG finished as both third lady and third F35 in her first attempt at the race. Full details of all finishers are on the RESULTS PAGE

October 7 ~ The Wolverhampton Turkey Trot 5 miler has moved from the first Sunday in December to a new date on December 20th. They could have chosen the 13th with Sneyd not taking place, but sadly it now clashes with the Telford 10km ! Entry forms have been added to the Club File
