September 24 ~ IAN HALL and DAVID PYE complete the Great Langdale Marathon to-day, one of the toughest road marathons in the country, taking place over TWO LAPS of the half marathon route. Full details are on the RESULTS PAGE
September 24 ~ The most scenic half marathon in the country was held to-day and STEVE CLARKE had a good run to finish 15th in the Great Langdale Half Marathon. Full details are on the RESULTS PAGE
September 24 ~ SHAW PYE was in action to-day, taking part in the JW Ultra 30 mile relay between Stratford -upon-Avon and Bournville. Mind you, Shaw wasn't part of a relay team, he was running the whole thing himself. After two weeks in America and illness for a week, he admitted his preparation wasn't ideal, but having LED for 27 miles, Shaw finally had to settle for third place. Details are on the RESULTS PAGE
September 13 ~ Sadly, NEV WATSON only heard from FOUR club members interested in taking part in the Midland Counties 6-stage relays at Sutton Park on September 24th, so we will not be entering a team this year. This is disappointing given the excellent day spent at the event in 2010 when we had 12 runners AND a reserve, but hopefully we can return in 2012
September 11 ~ MARK COOPER has been in touch with a number of race updates over the last couple of weeks. Mark completed the Coventry Autumnal 5 on August 24th, then finished as 5th M50 at the Little Aston 5 miler in Sutton Coldfield on September 4th. Full details for both races are on the RESULTS PAGE. Mark also took part in the Blythe Valley 10km fun run on September 11th, with results for this one still to come
September 6 ~ STUART HAWKES, STACY HEWARDINE and WULSTON ALDERMAN were all finishers in the Wolverhampton half marathon last Sunday (4th). Details as far as we have them are now on the RESULTS PAGE
September 5 ~ ANITA JONES and SARAH LEWIS both completed the Wye Valley half marathon yesterday (4th), though due to confusion at the start where they ended up running to the top of a hill just to turn back and run down again as everyone missed the track into the forest, the distance was nearer to 14 miles than 13. September 4 ~ GERALDEEN LYNCH won her category at to-day's Wolverhampton half marathon ~ details are on the RESULTS PAGE, with full results still to follow
September 4 ~ IAN HALL headed north into Scotland to take part in the first Glenmore 24 hour race near Aviemore, finishing 9th out of the 19 competitors. Full details are on the RESULTS PAGE; Ian's mini-report is on the RACE REPORTS PAGE
September 2 ~ If any club member failed to get a place in the flat and scenic Lake Vyrnwy half marathon on Sunday September 11th, here's your chance. RICHARD BAKER, now sidelined with a knee injury, has a number which he will regrettably not be able to use. If anybody wants to take part in this popular event which filled up months ago, please contact Richard by e-mail or on Facebook and the number is yours. A donation to the race entry fees black hole in Richard's bank account would be appreciated, but not necessary as he would prefer the number was utilised
