Rehearsals[ Rehearsal Information ] [ Rehearsal Pictures ]Rehearsal Information:Here is information on the venues for all the rehearsals, with the exception of the first formal music rehearsal on the Sunday Morning 1 August. The Church Hall is a comfortable eight minutes walking time from the opera house (timed on foot by your intrepid director). It is large and are well appointed with toilet facilities and separate rooms for small group rehearsals and pianos. We are obtaining this venue at a possible maximum cost of £140 (i.e. about £2.29 a head), but are negotiating a contribution from The Smiths - and anyway will probably be able to subsidise the cost by profit on refreshments, which will be available throughout the whole time, organised by Jill Duffey. HOWEVER, in consideration of what is anyway a concessionary fee, the Vicar of Holy Trinity Church has asked that some of us swell the congregation for Evensong, sing the hymns and perhaps perform a short item during the service. The hymn singing will be a matter of simple SATB sight-reading, but if anyone has a suggestion about a suitable item to perform - which will require minimal rehearsal - then please share it with us. Perhaps someone has an item their repertoire which would serve. The service will last from 1830 to 1915, which will leave a very short, but manageable, time to get to the Opera House for the Trent Opera Utopia, which I cannot imagine anyone wishing to miss.
