Rehearsals

Subject to confirmation we will rehearse the mornings of Monday 3rd, Tuesday 4th and Wednesday 5th August, 9.30 to 12.00 or 12.30, in a reasonably-sized room with a piano. On Thursday 6th we will be rehearsing in the Opera House itself, for the band call and dress rehearsal.

Workshop/Rehearsal on Sunday 24 May and Saturday 18 July

There was a (liquid) workshop/rehearsals at Nick Sales' house on Sunday 24 May.

A follow up session will be held on Saturday 18 July for any of the cast who can get there. Overnight accommodation is available courtesy of Nick and Mandie's house (limited space) or at local bed and breakfast establishments.

Nick lives close to Barnsley (less than 5 minutes from M1 J36 and less than 15 minutes from the A1).

Nick has set up his own web page with more information which includes pictures and sound from the get together held on 24 May.

Failing that ring Nick on 01226 748822 or e-mail him on Nicktenor@aol.com.

Photographs and feedback from the workshop will be published on Nick's page soon after the event.

Costumes

The chorus (except for the bridesmaids) are to be dressed all differently. You may bring your own costume or hire one. Either way, please let Mike Nash know. The only rule is, it must be right for London, 1875.

The order for hired costumes is to be in no later than the end of May. Therefore:-

  1. If you want a hired costume from the Festival at a cost of £10 let Mike know by end of May and give him your measurements!

  2. If you want to bring your own costume, send Mike a picture of it (electronically or via snail-mail) or at least describe it accurately in a private e-mail by no later than the third week in May, to give him a chance to say "yea" or "nay".

  3. Also Rica Mendes-Barry has offered assistance with costumes, especially for the American Savoynetters involved. If any one needs help finding, assembling, or simply advice on their costumes, please email Rica who is willing and able to help.

  4. If you haven't done any of these things by the end of May, YOU WON'T BE IN IT! And no, a Savoynet T-shirt is not an acceptable costume!
By the way, those people who have roped in non-Savoynetters into the chorus: please pass this information on to them, and post their replies back to Mike Nash.

Mike Nash's address is:

Flat E, Regents Court, Catherine Street, Macclesfield, Cheshire

His telephone number is:

Videos

Participants in the Festival are entitled to a discount on videos of our performance in the Buxton Opera House.

Anyone interested in a tape of Trial (with, presumably, Cox & Box and The Zoo) please e-mail Mike Nash so he can get the order in. The cost will be £14 if we order between 10 and 20 and £13.50 if we order more than 20.

When placing your order with Mike, please specify what format you want the video, eg PAL/NTSC.
