Steve Short
began his career as a police officer in the Metropolitan Police Service,
working as a Detective in Croydon and Brixton. He was involved in the
first trials to introduce tape recorded interviews into police procedures.
Since that time he has gained over 10
years experience in management training, personal development training and
team building, utilising experiential training media, both indoors and
outdoors.
Steve has worked with a wide range of
clients from the manufacturing, retail, finance, food manufacture, motor
and aerospace industries and public sector organisations. He has group and
individual facilitation experience, enabling participants on training
programmes to apply learning directly in the work place.
He has undertaken several management and
personal development training assignments within the legal sector and has
tailored these programmes to the special needs of the professional
services sector.
After three years studying (part-time) at Salford
University, he attained his MSc in Strategic Leadership. His dissertation,
"Managing In The New Millennium: Facing Up To The Challenges Of The
Future", is an analysis of the changing nature of work, how teams
fit into the ‘new’ working environment and the skills individuals need
to be effective in this rapidly changing environment.
