The Woodbridge Model Boat Club is based in the market town of Woodbridge, Suffolk (UK). We have about 40 members, our main interests are scale models, fast electric racing, R36 and Tactic R/C yachts and free sailing beach yawls.

You can find us at the Woodbridge model boat pond (directions here), on most Sundays from April to the end of October. For our program of events see the summer timetable or winter series pages.

The pond is small and sheltered with good access all round. This makes it ideal for scale models but is an interesting challenge to sailors as the wind is often light and variable, even when it's windy everywhere else.

We have a full program of events right through the year, designed to cater for all model boating interests. The highlight of the year is the Woodbridge regatta in early August, when we put on a full day of events and demonstrations before a large crowd.

This year we are introducing two new competition classes, both aimed at beginners:

  • "Club 500" - a fast but inexpensive power boat, an ideal introduction to the thrills of fast electric model boat racing.
  • "Tactic" - a simple and inexpensive yacht for free sailing or radio control.
