Crumbly topping

1 oz rolled oats
1 oz wholemeal flour
1 oz coconut
1 heaped tsp cinnamon
2 oz light soft brown sugar
2 oz margarine

Mix dry ingredients, and cut in marg with a fork, or rub in by hand, until an even texture.

Sprinkle evenly over cake (or breads, coffee cake, muffins, etc.), before baking.

As a variation, try making double the quantity, and use half in a layer in the middle of a plain or spice cake.

Is used for Apple Cake and the Spice Cake.
