comments - This community owned pub was closed for a while in 2008 whilst
they found a new landlord - Three-roomed pub (a general bar at the front, a games room to the rear and a restaurant room to the side) with good food served. Had the Stonehouse Station Bitter which was a good pint - Visited at the end of a ‘gruelling’ Wednesday evening trip! Friendly atmosphere - 3 beers on: Kinver Light Railway, Hobsons Bitter & Stonehouse Station Bitter. Hobsons was very good - 3.5 out of 5 but without a shadow of a doubt the Station bitter was excellent 4.5 out of 5 – all the group were impressed (excluding the driver, who was on soft drinks) The landlord sure knows his stuff! - Oct 2010 - Visited on a Friday night and it didn’t disappoint! Three beers on which included my yardstick Station Bitter. Still an excellent 4 star. Apart from that, all was much as the previous visit - May 2011 Busy village pub with local ales on. Pool table and darts board in the back room. The Stonehouse Station Bitter was a 4/5 and the Six Bells Revelry (their Christmas ale) was 4.5 out of 5. It's nice knowing that the pub is owned by the local community too - Dec 2011. |
