Freehouse. Large, modern lodge type pub that serves food and offers accommodation. Large car park. Dispaly cases with sporting paraphernalia. Three real ales - a little bit on the cool side and slightly cloudy but nice tasting. Situated on the A483 / B5070 roundabout. Visited Aug 2001  Pub website

Poachers Pocket
Smoothflow only on our last visit- what a disappointment. Value food pub with lots of wooden screens and alcoves. Open all day. The usual real ale, Marstons Pedigree, was off - we were told it's not stocked during the winter because there is not enough demand. Car park. Formerly called The New Inn.  Situated just outside Chirk on the B5070. Tel - 01691 773250. Visited Feb 2007
