Crown Inn

Banks's pub. Beer okay - but nothing special. Even the Pedigree was a little bland. Food served. Car park. Situated overlooking the Severn Valley on Hodge Bower. Music a bit loud. Tel - 01952 433128.  Visited May 2000

Fullers London Pride 
2005 - New landlady of the Crown Inn has contacted Pubsurvey to say the pub is newly refurbished. There is now a wide ranging menu and London Pride is available. 
   

Golden Ball

Freehouse. Good selection of tasty and well kept ales. Nice pub with a real fire that also does accommodation. Occasional live music. Food served and lots of weekly specials. The Ironmaster is specially brewed for the Golden Ball by the Munslow Brewery.

Dry, thin, no head, peppery with bitter finish

Lives up to its name, silky smooth aftertaste, whisky coloured, lacks head 
  

Horse & Jockey

Freehouse. Just one real ale on the day of the visit - the Shropshire Lad was well kept and tasty. This pub is situated down some steps on Jockey Bank off Madeley Road. Two rooms mostly given over to diners and it's all no smoking.  Good value food served and famous for it's tasty steak and kidney pies. Sunday roast is good, too. Freehouse. Brasserie and wine bar situated at 29 High Street. Food is served upstairs and there is a bar downstairs. The beer is tasty and seved in those long slim glasses that don't seem like they can hold a pint. There is a patio drinking area outside. Tel - 01952 432716. Visited Jan 2001

The Malt House

Freehouse. A good place to sit back and enjoy some music. Wednesday is open mike  night. Popular pub with live music most nights of the week. The bar food is tasty and served quickly. There is a selection of loud paintings on the wall in the bar area. Restaurant. Accommodation. Car park. Situated on The Wharfage overlooking the River Severn. Tel - 01952 433712. Visited Apr 2008 
Courage Directors Bitter Slight overtone of fruit & sweetness that edges it ahead of the IPA, but not enough for 4 stars

Meadow Inn

Freehouse. Award winning restaurant pub with three separate eating areas. Comfortable, but not really a drinkers pub.  Awesome view of the Ironbridge cooling towers from the beer garden. Pub has won awards for the food. Collection of cigarette cards. Only one real ale available at the last visit. Situated on Buildwas Road. Tel - 01952 433193. Banks's pub. Fairly authentic recreation of a turn of century pub. Basic facilities. Piano. Beer garden. Handy for the Eleys Pie Shop. Part of the Blists Hill Open Air Museum. Visited May 2000

Burtonwood pub. Very basic old pub with average beer. Pool table. Juke box. Situated on Bridge Road on the quiet side of the iron bridge. Cains a bit fizzy. Visited May 2000

Swan Inn

Freehouse. Major renovation in 2000. Situated on The Wharfage opposite the river. Food served. Bar and restaurant area. Car park. Since our last visit the thumping music has disappeared. The Shropshire Pride was the star pint - and there were two other real ales to choose from. Comfortable surroundings. Accommodation. Visited Apr 2008  Pub website

Marks says - pub has changed hands, now a Holdens pub - beer quality is still high and guests are varied and interesting. Give it a try.
