2008 CLOSEDA quiet and unassuming pub considering its position on the main tourist route from Shrewsbury to Ironbridge. It takes its pool seriously and has much to offer the visitor in the way of local information plus a well kept archaeological secret. The Cains Sundowner was a little cloudy but this did not detract from the taste. Visitors from out of town - namely the Channel 4 TV Time Team who in need of a good deal of refreshment, were heartened to have on hand a representative of the Tasting Team to guide them. The Sundowner received the thumbs up from them also. Beer garden. Pool table. Situated on the B4380. Tel - 01952 510258. Visited Aug 2000 & June 2001 |
