comments - The licencees from the Fir Tree Inn at Crew Green have bought the pub
and are indeed intending to reopen the Tontine - July 2007 - Tontine At Melverley has reopened as a pub about a week ago. Excellent pub and beer - Aug 2008 - Visited on a Friday night. Two beers, Stonehouse Station as the regular, with varying guests usually from local breweries. Quality rated as 4 star. Nice pub, nice atmosphere. There's an oddly shaped public bar, a comfortable lounge and a conservatory used as a dining room. We noted some excellent photographs of old Shrewbury in the lounge, together with a map of former railways in the Melverley area - Oct 2010 |
