Boars Head

Marstons pub. Loud music, two pool tables, outside drinking area and dark lighting so it's popular with younger drinkers. Beer only just average. Food served. Prepare yourself for a red and blue overload once inside. Situated on Willow Street. Tel - 01691 653686. Visited Jun 2008

Bull Ring

Formerly the Black Gate and now part of the Smithfield next door. This is an old black and white pub with a cute little porch on the front. There is a bar and lounge, and the lounge has an original black grate with a real fire. A section of the wall in the lounge reveals the original wattle and daub walls. The Wadworths 6X was chilled, it's not our favourite pint anyway.  Situated on Salop Street. Tel - 01691 679268. Visited Jun 2009

Top White Lion Inn

Ex-Greenalls pub and before that it was a Wem Ales pub with a lounge and bar. Long red bench seats. Car Park. The interior is an oasis of calm, especially on a Friday or Saturday night when the other pubs on Willow Street are pumping out the music.  So the pub is missing a great opportunity to offer customers a tasty difference - but sadly only Tetley Bitter is on offer - it's served a bit cold, and Tetleys can be a bit bland.  Situated on Oakhurst Road. Tel - 01691 852529. Visited Jun 2007
