Tom Cobleigh pub. Sprawling eating pub handy for the cinema on Old Potts Way. Food served and kids catered for. Giant TV. The Bedroom
Ex-Ansells pub formerly called the Pig & Truffle. Closed in 2002 due to the big flood and now re-opened as The Bedroom

    

Belle Vue Tavern

Freehouse. Cozy little pub with darts and dominoes. The guest ale was splendid - and there are 3 other real ales to choose from. Parking can be a bit tricky. Cartoons and horse brasses on the walls. There is a great flower display outside. Worth a visit. Situated on Belle Vue Road. Tel - 01743 362808. Visited Oct 2008

Banks's pub.  Low beams and a real fire make this a homely little pub. Dominoes are popular. Pool table. Closed at lunchtimes in the week. Accommodation. Car park around the back. Lots of railway memorabilia on the walls. Tasty Banks's Bitter served at a nice temperature. Belle Vue Road. Tel - 01743 350590. Visited Nov 2008

Several real ales to choose from. Beer garden. Food served. Picturesque setting by the river and suspension bridge on Port Hill. Selection of Belgian beers. Named after a hogshead - a barrel which holds 400 pints. Visited Jun 2009  Pub website

Bricklayers Arms

Freehouse. This pub was called the Watering Hole for a while, but thankfully the outlandish zebra stripes have now been replaced by a more comfortable interior and relaxing decor. Bar and lounge. Pool table. Friendly service and the Bombardier was tasty too. Car park. Situated up Copthorne Road. Visited  Mar 2002

The Britannia

Friendly pub on Castle Foregate with dominoes and pool tables. Food served, including all day breakfast.  A collection of possibly the most horse brasses in Shropshire. Beer a bit cold. Fake black beams in the walls. Dominoes popular. Tel - 01743 362408. Visited Jul 1999 and Oct 2003

The Bull

Marstons pub in the town centre situated on Butcher Row just off Pride Hill, so it's handy for the shops. Accommodation.  Food served, and also does tea and coffee. The guest ales all seem to come from the Marstons / Banks stable of breweries. Seats outside in summer. Tel - 01743 344728. Visited Jan 2009  Pub website

- The Shropshire Gold and the Golden Thread are delicious. Abbey Gates and Lemon Dream were also on. Beer Garden is mainly smokers during the bad weather. A smoking shelter should be built when planning permission is granted - Jul 2007
- John and Tunni are back and recently taken over the pub again after a couple of years in the sun. Shropshire Gold and Golden Thread always on and excellent. Lemon Dream and Razzmatazz also on. Now having occasional guest ales. Small beer festival planned for end April 08 with 5/6 guest ales. Beer garden being rebuilt from bottom up. Fortnightly quizzes on Sundays - Mar 2008

Banks's pub. Handy for the railway station on Castle Gates. Collection of Victoriana, books, pots and other curios. William Morris wallpaper adds to the mood. Comfortable lounge with a real fire. Good value food served. Beer pretty ordinary. Pool room. Buffalo horns above the bar. Tel - 01743 344148. Visited Aug 2005
