Kings Head |
Stunning
oak exterior that leans over the street in true Medieval style. Famous
old wall painting inside. Food served and very busy it can get at lunchtimes, and dominoes
seem popular at night. Collection of brass water jugs, kettles and goblets,
and other collectables. They used to serve Bass but no hand pulled ale was
available on our last visit. Colourful heraldic coats of arms painted on the front of the bar. Situated on Mardol. Tel - 01743 362843. Visited

All the beers are from the
Marstons/Banks's stable of breweries. This is a
good example of a traditional old fashioned multi-roomed pub. The small
front bar has a sign saying that until 1975 only gentlemen were allowed. Interesting clock in the lounge. Traditional pub games. Food
served including tasty chip butties. Church Street. Tel - 01743 344226. Visited
