Nags Head

Authentic local, slightly dingey and with   floorboards in the bar. Good choice of real ales - all very well kept. The Bass had a distinctive fruity taste. The Landlord Bitter was just superb. The scaffolding pole that once held up the ceiling has been replaced by a nice oak beam. Reputedly haunted - perhaps the ghost lives in the jettied medieval half timbered building at the back - dating to 1420. Collection of black & white photos. Nice beer garden - just try and ignore the razor wire. Pub food comprises of butties or crisps only. Guest ales. Situated on Wyle Cop. Tel - 01743 362455. Visited Mar 2008
