Morgans

Last time we visited this was a pub called The Exchange - now it's a wine bar. It used to have very tall brass dispensers for the keg cider and  lager and was full of young people at weekends when there were bouncers on the door. Need to re-vist to see what the beer's like. It used to be Tetley Bitter. Situated on Bellstone. Visited Feb 2000

Nags Head

Authentic local, slightly dingy and with floorboards in the bar. Good choice of real ales - all very well kept. The Bass had a distinctive fruity taste. The Landlord Bitter was just superb. The scaffolding pole that once held up the ceiling has been replaced by a nice oak beam. Reputedly haunted - perhaps the ghost lives in the jettied medieval half timbered building at the back - dating to 1420. Collection of black & white photos. Nice beer garden - just try and ignore the razor wire. Pub food comprises of butties or crisps only. Guest ales. Situated on Wyle Cop. Tel - 01743 362455. Visited Aug 2009

Freehouse. Tasty chip baguettes. Pool table is expensive at 70p a play. Building used to be a old cotton mill. It’s not the most comfortable pub in town – and looks a bit austere.
