Updated and re-opened in 2009. Now with a splendid selection of real ales on offer - almost all from Shropshire. The Three Tuns XXX Bitter was top notch. Food served - simple pub grub. Timothy Taylor Landlord Bitter 
Landlords comments: We always have one Cask Ale on occasionally two, and we don't have fixed Ale. Instead we cycle through, a selection we get from our Brewery which include Tim Taylor, Hobgoblin, Speckled Hen, London Pride, Rev James, Bombardier, to name a few. These are then interspersed with Hanby's and Woods Brewery. Of the two the Woods sells far better - Apr 2007

Freehouse. The Davenports Bitter is quite rare in Shropshire, it was tasty  Car park at the rear. Amazing collection of bottles on the vaulted ceiling. Food served. Sunday lunch. Darts. Visited Dec 2010
Davenports Saddlers

Greyhound Inn

Long and thin pub opposite the church. Occasional music, darts, pool table.  Little car park at the front. The etched glass on the entrance doors have the lounge and games rooms mixed up. Situated at 20 Bargates. Tel - 01948 663269. Visited  Apr 2011

Readers comments - I recently went into the Old Town Hall Vaults and they now have 7, guest ales. The night I went in there you could choose from Marstons bitter, Banks Mild, Merrie Monk, Spitfire, Batemans XXXB, Fox's Nob, & Okells IPA - May 2008 
Becoming quite a star! As it’s a Joules pub, their Pale Ale was on. Hancocks is a regular, but most of the other 4 are  guest beers.  4 star! A nice snug available for a bitter winter night! - Dec 2010

Red Cow

Pubmaster pub. Old pub with beams and a low ceiling. Pool table in the front room and darts and dominoes in the back room. Just a single real ale handpull but the real ale was not available on our last visit. This used to be a Vaux Brewery pub. Situated at 5 Pepper Street. Tel - 01948 664681. Visited Apr 2011

CLOSED.
Laurel Pub Group. The music is back now that Wetherspoons have given up this pub. Lively and busy, but not much real ale these days. Pub used to be called The Queen Victoria. Situated at 48 High Street. Tel - 01948 667846. Visited Feb 2005
