Bullhead family
Cottidae |
This fish differs from the Perch species by the even greater
width of its large mouth, by a greater flattening of the head
but mainly in the regular stripes of its ventral fins. It
inhabits rivers adjacent to the Baltic Sea, the watershed of
the river Danube and the rivers to the east as far as the
Amur. Its other biological features are very similar to the
former species and in some places they live together. It is
also a popular bait for Trout and is often found hidden
under stones.
