Press releases - RNI 1999The RNI in 1999 FAQ Frequently-asked questions

24th August, 1999: We are currently off-air. Unfortunately, after some pretty squally weather and the effects of metal fatigue, RF and sea-spray, the aerial system has collapsed. The masts are still standing and the stand-by aerial-rig is on its way to the 'Mebo-3'. There is little light left tonight, Tuesday, and we are staying on low-power for as long as we need to. If we can re-rig the aerial system we will be back on air as soon as possible, but if it gets too dark tonight we will close down for a couple of hours tomorrow and get the aerial repaired then.

Thanks for bearing with us!!

25th August, 1999: Back on air! Thanks to the sterling efforts of our technical team a replacement aerial has been rigged to see us safely through to the end of broadcasting. Thanks chaps!
