Morgan news - 6th August 2001.

My car went into production on 25th July 2001, and after the factory had been on holiday for a week, I decided to visit Morgan at Malvern Link to see how they were getting on with my new car. I was delighted to find my car in the factory, awaiting the fitting of its wings.

From the side, it looks a little better!

The blue colour on the bodywork is just a protective plastic coating.

The build ticket accompanies the car round the factory...

along with a notice which reads "Think of the Customer. Have you read and checked the build ticket?"

The interior of the car has not really been started yet.

... although some items (Gear lever, pedals and steering column) have been installed already, as you can see.

Anyway, after a little light lunch, we returned to the factory to find the car had progressed a little, and was residing on a pair of trestles.

As you can see, the rear wheel arches have been fitted.

By the end of the week, the car should be out of this part of the build process, and might even be in painting (in Corsa Red).

After my next visit, I hope there will be more photos ...
