Morgan News 3 - 28th August 2001
Our fourth and final visit to the Morgan factory took place on Tuesday 28th August 2001.
We were delighted to see our car almost finished!
Details of the first visit are here...
Details of the second visit are here...
After the ritual tour of the factory, we found our car waiting to go to Despatch (from where it will be sent to our dealer ready for delivery).
One of the Morgan staff (Mick Hand) arrived to move the car, just as we were about to start the day's photo-shoot, so Rob blagged a quick spin in the car (unfortuately not too far).
The short trip involved a run down a narrow gap between a couple of the factory buildings. Obviously, this is something the staff there do all the time!
The building on the left is the paint shop, and the one on the right is the trim shop.
As always, the staff were extremely patient with us, and helped in all our requests, no matter how trivial. Even Peter Morgan himself happily posed for a photograph with our car.
... not to mention the happy customer posing (as always) for the camera with our new pride and joy.
All that remains to be done as far as we could tell is the front stone guard to be fitted, the spare wheel to be fitted, the steering wheel has to be changed (as we'd like a slightly smaller one) and the indicator repeaters have to be fitted... and then that's it. We'll be all ready for the open road.
Thanks again to all the wonderful staff at the Morgan Motor Company, Malvern Link for their help both during our trip, and while building our car without our supervision.
