BBC South Today, 1970s.

 Bruce Parker

Bruce Parker, the face of BBC South since the 1960s.

Bruce joined BBC South Today in 1967.

Before this Bruce ran a BBC radio pilot scheme in the Channel Islands in 1964 which was the forerunner of all BBC Local Radio Stations.

Bruce was also the first presenter of The Antiques Roadshow with Arthur Negus. He also presented a BBC 1 network arts programme called Mainstream in the 1970's.

Although now not one of the main presenters, Bruce is BBC South's Political Editor, presenting political programme South on Sunday.

Bruce can also be seen presenting the odd news Bulletins and the main programme itself.

He also holds the accolade of being the longest serving BBC Regional presenter!

Anglia TV, 1960's.

 Michael Parkinson

Former Granada TV's Scene at 6.30 presenter Michael Parkinson could also be seen presenting for Anglia TV in the 1960's.

Michael went on to present the successful Parkinson chat show for the BBC in the 1970's.

He was also one of the "Famous Five" at the launch of TV-am in 1983. He also took over from Michael Aspel as host of ITV's Give Us A Clue.

Michael can now again be seen presenting his own BBC ONE chat show.

Former London Plus presenter Jeremy went on to present the BBC's Six O'Clock News and now Newsnight, not forgetting University Challenge!

Former TSW continuity announcer, Tris Payne has moved on to bigger things.

Firstly DIY and now presenting Wish You Were Here Today, weekday mornings on ITV1.

Southern ,Day by Day, 1981.

 Christopher Peacock

Christopher Peacock, the jolly presenter of Southern's Day by Day.

Christopher survived the change to TVS, but not as a presenter of Coast to Coast, but reporter and TVS News reader.

Christopher stayed at TVS until the end in 1992, when he moved to LNN's London Tonight. He's still there.

Former Central News (South) presenter, Geraldine Peers, can now be seen presenting the Oxfordshire South Today opt.

Former Central News (West) presenter Liz Pike made the move South to present Thames News in the late 1989's.

Liz can now be seen on BBC News 24.

 Su Porter

Former HTV Nightclub presenter Su Porter had moved to daytime announcing at HTV West by 1990.

Next was LNN's London Tonight and the Carlton Food Network.

Nick Powell, from Yorkshire's Calendar to sports reporting on Sky News in 2001 - minus the beard!

 Mike Prince

Long standing ATV continuity announcer, Mike Prince made the final announcement, along with Shaw Taylor, on New Years Eve, 1981.

Mike stayed with the station, now named Central until the late 1980's.

Mike also did a few stints announcing for HTV.

 Graham Purches

A simple case of switching channels. Graham moved to HTV West in 1998 following what appeared to be a sideways move from presenter to reporter of BBC Points West.
