Automatic Regulation unit |

In an age where large public clocks have the ability to be auto-wound, the need for a dedicated person to wind the clock has now gone. However, this same person was required to correct any gain or loss of the clock on a regular basis, which detracts from the ability of a clock to run untouched for long periods of time. This same person was also responsible for carrying out daylight saving time changes (e.g. GMT to BST changes). | |
|
The Auto-regulator system is a discrete unit
that is mounted on the rear of the clock that regulates the beat of the
pendulum to a reference to the Atomic Clock via the Rugby radio signal (MSF),
or GPS The Unit also allows the user to programme
the day light saving time changes which will stop and start the clock at
specific times to reflect local time.
The Auto-regulation system has been derived through a general demand for accuracy for public clocks that is, automatic in operation, and preserves the existing installation with no material changes to the clock. |
