never knew my father's father, but his mother was Betty Lou Unsworth, her mother was Anna
Elizabeth Cole - Unsworth and I think she was married to Robert Unsworth. My great uncles

of the name Unsworth which goes back over many generations covering several parts of the

Robert Frederick Unsworth born here on the Ranch in 1910, He was the last of Arthur Samuel
Unsworth's (May 1,1869, Bolton, Lancashire, England) 16 children. I continue to operate
the homestead Ranch from which our large wing of the clan has spread over North America.
Grandpas married Lillian Martha Carrington (Mar 25, 1874, Barnsley, Yorkshire, England).
They came to Canada in 1895 with Grandpa's brother Jim, a bachelor we think, who
subsequently disappeared from the family history. We have a fairly complete history of our
current history, but would love to make it more complete. A number of years back, Mom
wrote back and forth with one Harry Molyneux-Seel, he shared extensive English names and
dates, of which I still have. We'll chat more when it turns 40 below. ttfn aru

name Unsworth as this was my Nanas maiden name so am looking up the family tree. Her name
was Emmy and her parents were William and Harriet Unsworth. I know they were from
Lancashire but I am not exactly sure where Walton rings a bell. Emmy had one brother Billy
and 5 sisters. Their names are Beattie, Alice, Florence, Ethel and Elsie. Emmy was the

great. Nice to find it. My Dad's family emigrated to Canada in the late 1800s. They
actually did this twice. They first landed in Nova Scotia and worked in the coal mines
there. They later moved back to England then returned to Canada and settled in this area
where they developed their own underground coal mines and did some farming. They were
miners in England. Funny, some 60 years later I am also in the coal mining industry. I
would love to get all the information from my Dad and give it to you as well as find out
about yourself and others. My Father would be greatly interested. Please feel free to

site here. My gt gt grandfather was Joseph Unsworth a blacksmith born Culcheth around 1794
a roman catholic who followed the A6 via Preston (where he married Catherine Wilding) to
Kendal in Westmorland where he set up business and died there in 1870. My gt
grandfather was Thomas Unsworth another blacksmith and later farmer born 1823 in Kendal who had 2
wives (one died in childbirth) and reputed to have had 22 children (many died in infancy
as I have only been able to find 17 of them. He died in Kendal 1888 My grandfather was
Walter Unsworth born Kendal 1877 died Chadderton 1950. He was from the second marriage. He
was a Master Plumber and walked from Kendal to Chadderton to get an apprenticeship. The
family seem to have changed religion to C of E in this generation due to one of the
daughters marrying out. My father was Harry Unsworth b Chadderton 1912 a Master Painter
& Decorator died 1942 as a Sgt Wireless Op/Rear Gunner RAFVR missing over the North
Sea. I don't see any links except that Culcheth and Leigh are not that far apart.
