Since 1999 I have been working as a freelance writer, journalist and editor. I am a member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders and the National Union of Journalists.

I have an MA from St Andrews University, and much of my writing is on historical subjects. I also write for a wide range of magazines and websites contributing everything from restaurant reviews to articles on cider making.
