Robin Haig Hello, my name is Robin Haig. I have been working since 1999 as a freelance writer, copywriter, copy-editor and proofreader, and I am a member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders.

I have worked for a wide variety of traditional publishers and new media organisations in the past few years, and recent clients have included Legal & General, Leadbank, Pearson Education, The National Archives, Upfront Publishing and desq. Recent projects have included

  • writing web content for an e-marketing company
  • editing and rewriting the content for an online AS level history course and an online business English course
  • copy-editing books about anything from online genealogy resources to the history of an Armenian city in Turkey
  • copy-editing and writing blurbs for fiction titles

I have also worked as a contributing editor for China in Focus, and I edit a newsletter and work as a press officer for CPRE Herefordshire. I have a good knowledge of website design, using Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Photoshop, and am familiar with HTML and CSS.

I am also an occasional freelance writer of articles and book reviews, and the author of two books, A History of Theatres and Performers in Herefordshire (2002), and The Phoenix Rises (2003).

In addition, I undertake historical and genealogical research at the National Archives in Kew and other record offices. Please contact me if you would like further details of this service.
