My interest in family history began in a gradual way, starting with just one name (Bysouth) and bit by bit adding other names, as I delved further.

My husband’s family name on his mother’s side (Feuillade) is probably the most intriguing for me. My interest in this name began at a family christening years ago one of my husband's aunts told me that a branch of her family had come over from France. She wasn't sure when or why and said she thought the name was 'de Fleur' ("or something like that"). It turned out to be Feuillade and when I finally made contact, through the Genealogical Research Directory, with a lady in Australia, my interest really began.

Along the way I’ve been in touch with dozens of people and have even met up with some of them. A few years ago a Bysouth Day was arranged and many members of that family met up for the first time. In 2004 my husband Graham and I were in Australia and met up with a member of the Feuillade family, related way, way back!

As you will see, I've added some family photographs, which I trust you will like and which I hope haven't taken too long to download.
