This is the final section of a 4-page leaflet. In November 1951 three French parachute battalions were dropped on to the airstrip at Hoa Binh, a town 50 miles South West of Hanoi. They occupied the town and linked up with land forces. After taking a month to move his troops into position General Giap attacked and after weeks of ferocious fighting and huge casualties forced the French to withdraw. This leaflet, which was distributed on the ground, somewhat optimistically urges French paratroops to refuse to listen to their commanders, take no part in operations, and demand immediate repatriation. It suggests that they listen to a "Sergeant Rene Vident and 25 parachutistes" who presumably had been captured and "persuaded" to send an appeal to the remaining troops to cease fighting.
