Times such as Christmas, when families come together and celebrate, were ripe for exploitation by the propagandists. They would play on the thoughts which any absent father or husband would have about his loved ones. Diverting his attention from the battlefield and encouraging him to be self-protective would reduce his effectiveness as a fighting force. This is an open-out leaflet and the front cover (top) and inside (bottom) are shown. On the back cover is a message from The Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam exhorting the GI to demand that Nixon ends the "war of aggression" and to demand "the withdrawal American troops ... from South Vietnam" and allow "the internal affairs of South Vietnam" to be "settled by the Vietnamese people themselves".
