Two of the clubs’ 'youngsters' have put the club firmly on the map recently with the receipt of National awards

Lauren Spink, our English rated No.1 for her age was nominated for the British Gas/ Daily Express ‘Tomorrows People ‘ award and achieved runner up status , albeit to a 16 year old Olympic canoeist. What an achievement to add to her successful year which has brought her National, County and Norwich Junior and Senior titles, and all at the tender age of 12 years !

If she progresses next season at this rate, well who knows what she is capable of achieving ?

Well done Lauren we are all proud of you .

Lauren plans to make her mark on the league this year whilst concentrating on the major tournaments to gain ranking points.

Dennis Calver, our hard working secretary, was awarded the prestigious Maurice Goldstein award for devoted service to table tennis. This award is rated very high in the table tennis world and is rich reward for this stalwart of the club.

Dennis and his wife Margaret are the only founder members still playing for the club, formed back in 1965.

Dennis is also Chairman of the Norwich League and a recognised international referee .

Well done Dennis .
