below -
The Council Chamber, one and a half stories high, the entrance being on a level halfway between the first and second floors. The walls were panelled in Tasmanian oak. The tables, shaped like the room, were of Queensland walnut of a dark grey colour. The sixty-foot length of the straight back wall and the long curve of the front were relieved by panelling, radiator grills and lighting pillars surmounted by wrought-oak urns, which illuminated the entire room by reflected light.
