A battery room, an echo room and a corridor.

Batteries above - Storage batteries for the emergency lighting supply. This lighting was permanently switched on to enable the performances in the studios to be continued in case of failure of the ordinary lighting.

An Echo Room
Corridor above - The studio corridor leading to the balcony of the Vaudeville Studio, BA. The studio and its balcony are shown in the pages dealing with the sub-basement.

left - One of the echo rooms. The music from the studio was reproduced on a loudspeaker in a resonant room, and the sounds thus obtained were picked up on a microphone and sent on to the Control Room, where they were mixed (in any required degree of echo effect) with the same music coming direct from the studio.
