exiting with a smile on his face. On the restart, 31 Iain Amos was spun on turn

305 Wood sought revenge in the second heat with an early hit on 194 Anscombe, as

straight. 194 Anscombe made good progress through the field via his front
bumper, giving 710 Vince Stone a hefty hit in the later stages. Into the last
bend, Stone launched at Anscombe to spin him round. 158 Davies took his second
win of the day, with Anscombe slamming his car in reverse up the home straight
to take 8th, and end a highly entertaining session.

Keyton, who ran over the rumble strips as he tried the inside round turn 3. 445
Craig Boyd and 330 Mark Wilkin spun in the pack, as 553 Keyton tried again for
the lead, and this time found a way through on the inside. 368 Steve Santry was
heading a train of cars in pursuit, but with a couple of laps to run he drifted
a little wide, and lost a number of places with 307 Collin Moss, 541 Harry
Skoyles and 641 Willie Skoyles Jnr going past, as 553 Keyton went on for the
win.
399 West set the early pace in the second heat, before being overhauled by 495
Stuart Sculthorpe. 411 Richard Warner pushed through on the inside of turn 2,
causing 399 West to spin. 368 Santry reeled in 495 Sculthorpe, as contact in the
pack saw 641 Skoyles get black flagged and 541 Skoyles clashing with 730 Mike
Daniels, causing the latter to spin on turn 4. 368 Santry got up 495
Sculthorpe’s inside in the closing stages to claim victory.
553 Keyton soon overhauled 399 West for the lead in the Final, as 307 Moss and

out, Bramt’s car starting to tip up. 410 Wells had already committed himself to
hitting Bramt, and caught Bramt’s car in the rear floor area, sending Bramt over
into a fast rollover. The race was halted, with Bramt unfortunately hurting his
hand, and requiring the ambulance. The restart saw 81 Lee Rulton get spun on the
home straight, as 112 Stevens chased the leading 697 John, but he was unable to

jacking as the pack smashed into him on the first lap! Another pile up formed on
turn 2, as 175 Karl Corsby attacked 277 Owen’s hearse on the pit bend, with 602
Shaun Cooper giving Owen a hard T-bone in front of the starter’s rostrum. This
kicked off a jacking train, as 879 Reggie Reed gave Corsby a head-on, with 791
Young hitting Reed, the jacking train growing as 272 Gary Murrell, 365 Harden,
215 Bull and 370 John Cobbold crashed in behind. Cobbold backed off, allowing

Consolation 1 started with a big pit bend pile up, with 273 McClagish getting
jacked again. Most of the field got involved, kicking up a lot of dust from the
inside run-off area, which had not been watered, and smoke making it difficult
to see. 225 Bull jacked 589 Smith on the home straight, as 311 Bradbury jacked
426 Horwood on turn 3. 589 Smith took a huge jacking on turn 3 from 206 King,

ride over an infield concrete block. 85 Ellis went on opposite to T-bone 370
Cobbold, as 33! Reed hit 602 Cooper. 85 Ellis T-boned 602 Cooper, the latter
taking further damage from 33! Reed, before Reed was stuffed into 85 Ellis by 22
Vincent. 85 Ellis then took a T-bone from 269 French on the home straight,
before 837 Martin Wesby also collected Ellis. 617 Overy then dished out a
massive T-bone to Ellis, as 58 Dalton kept out of trouble to record his second
win of the night.
Such was the lateness of the hour, it was decided to cancel the planned
Allcomers race, with the last race of the evening being the Accumulator into a
DD. This started off a little quiet, before 217 Smyth hooked out 33! Reed, Smyth
going on to blitz 336 White. 262 Barnard hit 217 Smyth, as the flag dropped on
190 Bailey for the win. The DD started straight away, with several cars having a
difficult time getting off the infield onto the track. 113 Brown blitzed 262
Barnard, as 190 Bailey weighed into 82 Wayne Quinn. 379 Clifton T-boned 190
Bailey, the latter losing a front wheel, as 501 Kaye met head-on with 170 Darren

an unknown silhouette on the back straight. 159 Scarrow and 101 Rayner had a
head-on, as 348 Sherwood steamed 435 Wilkins. 101 Rayner had another head-on,
this time with 547 McNeil, Rayner’s bonnet popping out from its corner plates to
obscure his view. 384 Golden hit Rayner and then T-boned 361 Chris Walden, as
348 Sherwood weighed into 547 McNeil. 384 Golden went on to hit 180 Mark Foster,
as 348 Sherwood attacked 830 White, before coming under fire from 814 Millen.
348 Sherwood and 814 Millen took to the infield, along with 525 Jason Elvin, all
three getting disqualified, leaving the only car still on the track moving, 384
Golden, with the win.

The Final commenced with a tussle in the pack on turn 4, before another melee
exiting turn 2 saw 877 Eddie Darby, 935 Nathan Maidment, 504 Matt Everard and
752 Gavin Pike in the fence, and 401 Goldin lose his rear wheel as he spun
round. The race was halted, with a big shunt amongst the star men on the
restart, causing 642 Luscombe and 497 Cockerill to tangle. 105 Rowe ground to a
halt at the end of the home straight, with a small fire causing another
stoppage. The restart saw 7 Moodie get through the field at speed, as 992
Jeffries spun on turn 1 to take a T-bone from 76 Rowe. 497 Cockerill took
avoiding action to collect a marker tyre, with the race being halted for the
fenced Jeffries. 315 Justin Fisher led the field for the restart, before 7
Moodie put in the bumper into turn 1 to take over. 886 Bradbury gave chase in
third, as Moodie took the win. Bradbury went for a big last bend lunge on
Fisher, but failed to gain a place, while 467 Batten’s similar lunge on 812
Williams for the minor places was more successful.
The National had a high speed start, as 877 Darby tangled on turn 2 with 667
Farrell. 7 Moodie was going well from the lap handicap, as 935 Maidment spun on
turn 4. 830 Bennett spun exiting turn 4 to get collected by 628 Stephens, the
pair ending tangled on the home straight, where 886 Bradbury ran into Stephens
for a stoppage. The restart was led by 676 Hooper, but he was challenged by 393
Chris Cuming and the pair swapped places, with 667 Farrell and 886 Bradbury
joining the battle for the lead. 7 Moodie gained another place with a hard hit
on 38 Polley, while 393 Cuming retook the lead after a hit into turn 1. 676
Hooper came back to hit Cuming hard into turn 3, the pair crashing out into the
fence on turn 4, with 7 Moodie also getting caught up to crash out. 667 Farrell
took over the lead, with 886 Bradbury putting in the bumper hard into turn 1,
but Farrell could not be shifted. The race was then halted for the fenced Moodie
and Cuming, with Farrell heading the restart ahead of Bradbury and Polley.
Bradbury chased Farrell over the remaining distance, and put in the bumper on
the last bend, looking to go up the inside. However, Polley also put in the
bumper on Bradbury and sneaked through on the inside to steal the win in by far
the best race of the night.

King of Crash DD (6 cars): 714 from 88.
A number of no shows gave a rather small and disappointing field. However, there
was some interesting machinery being raced including 199 Phil Powell’s Daihatsu
Charmont, while 383 Andre McClelland had a used Capri and running mate 452
Anthony Sleeman a used Mk5 Cortina. 714 Paul Smalldon had a used Mk4 Cortina,
while 32 Matt Small and 523 John Swanborough had a matching pair of Datsun Sunny
estates. 190 Steve Bailey was racing a Datsun Violet and 88 Tim Wood a Lada. 444
Mark Loader and 248 John Sparks both had Marinas, 55 James Ogborn a used Series
III Minx, while 155 James Gatland and 369 Gary Holmes both had Triumph Heralds,
the latter’s being an estate.
Heat 1 saw 190 Bailey follow in 155 Gatland on turn 3, as 369 Holmes came to a
halt on turn 4, with the front suspension seemingly collapsing. 32 Small
attacked 190 Bailey, but could not spin him out and eventually passed, Bailey
not surprisingly picking up Small on the back straight to thunder him into the
side of the abandoned 369 Holmes’ Herald to total it. 199 Powell took the flag.
Heat 2 was very quiet, with just a few spin-outs, 190 Bailey taking the win.
The Final saw 452 Sleeman fence 444 Loader on turn 3, before 32 Small hooked out
Sleeman on turn 1, setting him up for a big T-bone from 155 Gatland. 523
Swanborough took the chequered, as 383 McClallen and 199 Powell tangled as they
crossed the line.
Just 6 returned for the DD, 32 Small giving 155 Gatland a clout down the back
straight, with Gatland taking further damage from 199 Powell. Gatland went on
opposite on turn 1 and tried to hit the passing 714 Smalldon, but missed and put
himself hard into the fence. 55 Ogborn T-boned 88 Wood on the back straight, as
199 Powell pulled onto the infield, leaving just three cars in the running. 32
Small and 88 Wood met head-on, with Wood taking a further hit from 714 Smalldon.
Smalldon and Wood then had a head-on, as Small went out on the infield. Smalldon
jacked Wood, the pair having another head-on, before Wood came to a halt,
Smalldon giving him a further jacking for good measure to take the win.

Final (8 cars): 505, 7, 686, 763, 716, 616, 629, nof.
686 Keith Barber and 629 Helen Hart tangled on turn 3 early in the first heat,
with 728 Graham Bunter spinning round to miss them, causing a stoppage. 616
Darren Clarke led the restart from 773 Nick Whitney, as 505 Mick Whittle dived
up the inside to take third, but 791 Richard Hart hit him into turn 1, the pair
tangling, with 59 Nigel Finnigan also getting involved. 763 Andy Bateman
overhauled Whitney and then Clarke for the lead and went on for the win.
The second heat started with 763 Bateman riding over 505 Whittle’s wheel on turn
4 to get airborne, as 616 Clarke picked up a puncture to retire to the infield.
716 Roy Clarke made the early running before he was passed by 629 Hart. 716
Clarke and 728 Bunter tangled exiting turn 4 and hit the fence, with 505 Whittle
and 29 Graham McLeod crashing in behind for a stoppage. Just 4 cars were left
for the restart, with 629 Hart being chased by 686 Barber. 763 Bateman got past
Barber, but 629 Hart stayed in the lead for the win.
Only 8 cars returned for the Final, with 616 Clarke taking out 629 Hart, as 505
Whittle came through to take the lead and he went on for the win.

A different format was used to try to get bigger fields of cars on the track,
with two heats and two consolations being run.
Rain was falling as heat 1 got underway, which made the track slippery. 189
George Heppenstall set the early pace, as several cars spun fencewards. 322
James Neachell was using his bumper to move through the field, with 515 Frankie
Wainman Jnr and 2 Paul Harrison also coming up the order. 97 Murray Harrison
rode over 337 Dave Willis on turn 3, as 41 Richard Broome spun across the track
to take a T-bone in the front end from 260 Dave Berresford. 189 Heppenstall
dropped down the places and 333 Nick Jagger spun on turn 1. 8 Mick Harris spun
on turn 1 and he was pushed round the bend by a train of 1 Stuart Smith Jnr, 515
Wainman and 2 Harrison. Wainman and Harrison broke free quickly - into the last
bend Harrison tried to shift Wainman, but the hit was not hard enough, and
Wainman beat Harrison to the line. However a check of the lap charts revealed
322 Neachell as the winner.
Heat 2 saw the conditions worsen, with 446 Joe Booth setting the early pace,
before passed by 394 Chris Clare. 96 Adam Perkins spun on turn 1 to get stranded
mid-track, before 502 Richard Wilson spun into turn 1 and collected the fence in
reverse. The race was halted to check on Wilson, who eventually walked from his
car. 394 Clare led the restart, but was soon overhauled by 84 Tom Harris. 35
Neil Shenton and 335 Mark Woodhull had a tussle, as 84 Harris went on for the
win.
The first consolation saw a depleted field, with a number of drivers deciding to
call it a day in the terrible conditions, with the rain coming down even harder.
189 Heppenstall led, as 212 Danny Wainman hit 337 Willis into turn 1. The
backmarking Willis then shoved 189 Heppenstall fencewards into turn 1, as 212
Wainman hit 242 David Nickolls into turn 3 to half spin. Wainman then cut across
the infield from turn 3 to rejoin off turn 4 and gain an advantage, and soon
took the lead. Wainman went on for the win, with a big margin over second placed
321 Ed Neachell, and was lucky not to have been penalised.
446 Booth headed the second consolation, but went wide which let 4 Dan Johnson
through. 35 Shenton kept hitting 260 Berresford and eventually got past. Third
placed 8 Harris spun, but recovered to battle with Shenton and Berresford to
regain his third place. 323 John Riley spun into the fence, as 4 Johnson went on
for the win.
The Final was led away by 446 Booth, as the red tops had a big bundle into turn
1 as they got sorted out. 303 Roger Mitchell had a big spin, as 515 Wainman got
caught up in a turn 1 melee to spin. 1 Smith got past Wainman, as 394 Clare got
stuck on the racing line on the town bend, causing a stoppage. 446 Booth still
led the restart, as 515 Wainman went in hard into the town bend to send a group
of cars towards the fence and gain a number of places. 136 Steve Jacklin hit the
fence on turn 1, before 335 Woodhull also went into the fence nearby to shed a
wheel. The yellow flags came out, with 1 Smith accidentally ramming 33 Peter
Falding, Falding hitting Smith back in relation down the back straight. 446
Booth led the restart once again, but he was soon passed by 1 Smith, Booth then
stalling on the apex of the town bend. Booth got going again, only to hit 35
Shenton as he rejoined from the infield. 515 Wainman moved into second, before 1
Smith spun himself on turn 1, allowing Wainman to take over. 2 Harrison closed
on Wainman and hit him wide into turn 1 to take over the lead. Wainman came back
to hit Harrison into the pit bend bend, with both half spinning in the deeper
shale, Wainman recovering quicker to retake the lead. 380 Steven Cayzer sneaked
through on the inside to move into second, before 2 Harrison clouted him into
turn 3 to regain second. Wainman was delayed slightly on the last lap as he
encountered backmarkers, allowing Harrison to dish out a big last bend hit.
Wainman went a little wide, but held on to take the win, as Harrison drifted out
towards the fence, but kept his momentum going to stay in second, with just
eight cars managing to go the distance.
Just 15 cars returned for the National, the horrible track conditions having
taken its toll, with 446 Booth leading them away. A turn 1 tangle near the start
of the race claimed a number of cars, leaving 76 Lee Smith with a buckled back
wheel. 515 Wainman spun twice, as 294 Jonathan Clare had 244 Mick Rogers clamber
over his front end on the pit bend. 21 Mark Gilbank eventually found a way past
259 Paul Hines, after some bumperwork, as 446 Booth stayed in the lead to the
line to take a well deserved win.

GN (18 cars): 17 Lee Cooke, 100, 844, 2, 32, 25, 21, 488 Mike Kingston Jnr, 8
Dave Morley, 275 Ian Bell.
611 Gavin Harris headed the first heat, as 23 Mark Rodgers spun on turn 1. A
bundle out of turn 4 saw 588 Vicki Kingston spin and 8 Dave Morley getting
airborne, using 180 Ian Mallinson and 70 Steve Pollitt as his launchpad. 40
Steve Featherstone was left against the fence, causing a stoppage. The restart
saw 783 Stephen Thatcher shed a wheel on the back straight, with 32 Nick Spicer
also wrecking his front wheel. 844 Nathan Etheridge hooked up with 488 Mike
Kingston Jnr, as the yellow flags came out again for the lose wheel. The leading
611 Harris was shunted out on turn 1 on the restart, with 311 Phil Bointon
taking the lead. Another turn 4 melee saw 52 Peter Robertson hit the fence with
611 Harris clambering up his side. 2 Tony McCarthy caught 311 Bointon and
bumpered him wide, Bointon came back to hit McCarthy, but McCarthy made the
break. 47 Mark Slingsby and 126 Kevin Marshall tangled to crash out on the
infield, as 2 McCarthy took the win.
Conditions had worsened for the second heat, with the cars soon all turning
brown. 70 Pollitt and 551 Keith Barnard collected the home straight fence, as 76
John Gavin hit the back straight fence. 2 McCarthy spun out, as the race was
cautioned to check on 76 Gavin. 343 Paul Heath led the restart, but went very
wide allowing 844 Etheridge through. 2 McCarthy then stormed past to take the
lead, but 844 Etheridge hit him into turn 1 to send him wide to retake the lead,
and he went on for the win.
100 Adam Rubery took an immediate lead in the Final, and got away from the
chasing pack. 844 Etheridge gave chase, and closed the gap as Rubery encountered
backmarkers. Etheridge then took over the lead as Rubery drifted wide round turn
2 and off the racing line into the slippery deeper shale. However, Rubery got
going again and caught Etheridge, putting in the bumper into the pit bend to
send both of them wide. Etheridge still led up the back straight, but then went
a little wide into the town bend, Rubery diving up the inside to open up a gap
again and go on for the win.
The National started with a bundle, with 275 Ian Bell coming out as leader. 100
Rubery and 2 McCarthy gave chase, Rubery going wide to allow McCarthy into
second, and then he overhauled Bell for the lead. However, McCarthy then got
caught up in a tangle on turn 1 between the backmarkers, which allowed 844
Etheridge and 100 Rubery to pass and fight for the lead. 17 Lee Cooke joined the
battle and passed Etheridge to move into second to chase Rubery. Etheridge came
back to retake second, before Rubery spun on turn 3, with Etheridge then taking
the lead. 17 Cooke chased Etheridge to the last bend, where he put in the
bumper, Etheridge crashing into a spinning car, with Cooke bumping over the
inner kerb. This allowed Rubery to almost steal the lead, but Cooke got going to
just beat Rubery to the line in a very close finish.
Stockkarts – World of Shale Final (11 cars)
World of Shale Final (11 cars): 27 Chris Butcher, 306 Colin Bunyard, 12 Carl
Heighes, 21 Graham Peel, 546 Mark Banham, 64 Stephen Ashton, 2 Colin North, 391
Keith Harrington, 356 Kay Fitton, 197 Jamie Collins.
The cars were gridded in graded order, with 197 Jamie Collins leading the early
laps. 27 Chris Butcher and 306 Colin Bunyard made progress through the field
from the back and battled, with 12 Carl Heighes joining them. 306 Bunyard
bumpered 12 Heighes into the town bend to move into third, and then shoved past
21 Graham Peel for second. 27 Butcher was right behind and got past Bunyard, to
close on the leading 197 Collins. Into turn 3, Butcher hit Collins, with Bunyard
bumpering Butcher, but Butcher kept control to take the lead. 197 Collins and
356 Kay Fitton both spun on the last lap, as Butcher went on to retain the
title.
All of the drivers, mechanics and officials deserve praise for continuing in the
ever worsening conditions, with the meeting running to its conclusion and no
races lost, and despite the state of the track a number of the races were still
entertaining with lots of lead changes.

Bangers – Gary ‘Badger’ Lawrence Memorial (20 cars)
Heat 1 (20 cars): 791 Aaron Morris, 770 Michael Harrington, 159 Mitchell Mills,
744 David Wilde, 960 Jamie Hughes, 622 Gary Webb, 814 Marty Eighteen, 821 Rob
Bennett, 801 Stephen Holland, 296 Paul Shepherd.
Heat 2 (17 cars): 801, 960, 770, 744, 81 Lee Rulton, 821, nof.
Final (15 cars): 791, 770, 652 Peter Richardson, 821, nof.
DD (7 cars): 770 from 791.
Entertainer: 770.
The turnout included a good number of regular National Banger drivers, most of
them painted in the Wokingham Car Spares colours in which Gary Lawrence raced.
The first heat saw 112 Pete Stevens and 213 Robert Knight battle for the lead,
Knight taking a big lunge at Stevens to spin him. 213 Knight was then picked up
going into the pit bend by 740 Ryan Flockton and followed in, the pair getting
stuck together. 112 Stevens was spun out, with 723 Spencer Kelly, 779 Dave Power
and 81 Lee Rulton also spinning in separate incidents, as 791 Aaron Morris took
the win.
The second heat was much livelier, with 770 Michael Harrington clipping the
rumble strips to tip onto two wheels. 723 Kelly spun on turn 2, where he was
T-boned by 791 Morris, with 622 Gary Webb blitzing Morris. 723 Kelly got going
again to veer across the back straight after 112 Stevens tried to spin him,
before 814 Marty Eighteen was spun on the back straight to roll. The race was
halted, with 770 Harrington steaming 81 Rulton on the restart into turn 1. 821
Rob Bennett got caught on the outside of Rulton, allowing 652 Peter Richardson
to jack Bennett. 159 Mitchell Mills was fenced off turn 2 by 770 Harrington,
before getting shunted hard into 787 Chris Busby. 744 David Wilde hit 296 Paul
Shepherd on the home straight, as 960 Jamie Hughes steamed 821 Bennett. 112
Stevens further blitzed 296 Shepherd on the back straight, as 801 Stephen
Holland took the chequered.
The Final started with 81 Rulton getting spun by the pack going into turn 3 and
hitting the fence to tip onto two wheels. 766 Mark Rogers collected the fence on
turn 2, as 638 James Friend was spun on the back straight. 821 Bennett attacked
791 Morris on turn 4, only to then get spun by 159 Mills. Mills then steamed 622
Webb and took him into the pit gate, 744 Wilde blitzing 159 Mills on the back
straight. Mills exited his car, which later got hit hard by the passing 622
Webb, the latter then taking out 801 Holland on the pit bend. Holland got his
revenge by fencing Webb, and went on to fence 723 Kelly on turn 4 and stuff 744
Wilde into the pit gate. 791 Morris took the win, spinning 638 Friend as he
crossed the line, and went on to celebrate by jacking 744 Wilde on the back
straight.
The DD followed on, after a quick interlude, with 296 Shepherd steaming 791
Morris, as 770 Harrington weighed into 814 Eighteen. 791 Morris blitzed 770
Harrington, as 296 Shepherd had a private DD with 652 Richardson on the home
straight. 814 Eighteen blitzed 296 Shepherd, as 791 Morris jacked 821 Bennett.
The lively 770 Harrington dished out a big blitz to 296 Shepherd and tipped onto
two wheels, leaving just four cars running, with Shepherd taking a head-on from
791 Morris and then getting sandwiched as 770 Harrington hit him in the rear.
Harrington then hit Morris, before Morris and Bennett met head-on, Harrington
then sandwiching Morris. Bennett’s car died, leaving just Morris and Harrington
to fight it out. Harrington jacked Morris and then T-boned him to finish him off
for the win, and blitzed 652 Richardson in celebration to end a good session
from the Bangers.
V8 Stock Cars – English Championship (22 cars)
English Championship (22 cars): 98 Peter Scott, 7 David Burton, 183 Mark
Guinchard, 72 Colin Goodswen, 34 Dennis Harris, 33 Terry Harris, 42 Pete
Blomfield, 547 Peter Ross, 29 Mark Williams, 324 Simon Turner. (Note: Amended
result to that announced, 521 removed from 5th, 324 comes into 10th)
Heat 1 (22 cars): 29, 7, 33, 34, 547, 2 Rob Beale, 183, 521 Alan Gray, 324, 72.
Heat 2 (20 cars): 29, 72, 35 Maurice Sullivan, 183, 34, 33, 32 Daryl Harris, 42,
521, 2.
The V8 English Championship was first, with the draw placing 98 Peter Scott on
pole with 29 Mark Williams on his outside. 27 Malcolm Burton and 815 Brad Moss
made up row 2 with 36 John Saunders and 183 Mark Guinchard behind. 98 Scott
blasted off into the lead from the start, as a turn 2 bundle sent 36 Saunders
into the fence. 2 Rob Beale spun on turn 2 where he was T-boned by 125 Peter
Gray, as 33 Terry Harris spun on turn 4 after a tangle with 72 Colin Goodswen.
27 Burton spun exiting turn 2 after trying to stay with the rapid 98 Scott, as
521 Alan Gray moved through the field via his front bumper. 521 Gray moved into
second, before 815 Moss went for a big lunge into turn 3 for the pair to tangle.
521 Gray reversed away from Moss, only to crash into 35 Maurice Sullivan, as 98
Scott went on to take the title.
The first heat was led by 2 Beale, as 98 Scott tangled with 32 Darryl Harris,
the pair careering over the kerb and centre green on turn 1. 45 Robert Sellar
and 2 Beale traded hits, Beale going back down the order as 45 Sellar spun on
turn 3, with 29 Williams taking over the running for the win.
The second heat started with a tangle on turn 3, with 98 Scott spinning. The
tangle cleared itself, before 125 Gray spun on the pit bend, helped by 45 Sellar,
the pair getting stuck to bring out the yellow flags. 35 Sullivan led the
restart, with 29 Wiliams and 815 Moss challenging him for the lead, but Sullivan
held them off. 7 David Burton then came through for second place, hitting 35
Sullivan into turn 1 to go into the lead. Sullivan came back and hit Burton hard
into the pit bend sending him into the fence, Sullivan retaking the lead.
However, he got a little out of shape and rode the rumble strips on turn 1
before going wayward a little later. This allowed 29 Williams and 815 Moss
through, and they both had turns in the lead. 815 Moss went out, as 72 Goodswen
overhauled 35 Sullivan for second, with 29 Williams going on for his second win
of the afternoon.
Classic Hot Rods (12 cars)
Heat 1 (12 cars): 333 Lee Wood, 20 Dave Fry, 3 Gary Witcomb, 23 Richard Boulton,
750 Dean Raggett, 21 Rick Fray, 24 Roger Wright, 111 Ivan Russell, 862 Carl
Checkley, 444 Neil Edwin.
Heat 2 (11 cars): 20, 750, 3, 21, 24, 333, 23, 111, 862, 99 Steve Train.
Final (11 cars): 3, 20, 23, 99, 750, 111, 333, 24, 862, 112 Kevin Russell.
An interesting line-up of cars, including a good number of Mk1 Escorts, a couple
of Mk2s, three Anglias and a lone Mini Clubman.
The first heat was led away by 750 Dean Raggett, before 21 Rick Fray dived round
the outside on the pit bend and up the back straight to take the lead. However,
he went wide into turn 3, and Raggett retook the lead, as 333 Lee Wood reeled in
the front pair and got up Fray’s inside for second. Wood then overhauled Raggett
for the lead. 750 Raggett got the rear of his car airbourne after clashing
wheels with 21 Fray, as 20 Dave Fry moved into second. 3 Gary Witcomb was chased
by 23 Richard Boulton for most of the race as they moved up the places, with 333
Wood going on to take the win.
Heat 2 again was headed by 750 Raggett with 21 Fray in pursuit. 20 Fry, 3
Witcomb and 24 Roger Wright caught the front pair to have five Mk1 Escorts
battling for the lead. 20 Fry got round the outside of 21 Fray, and passed 750
Raggett with a lap to go to take the win.
The Final was headed by 750 Raggett, as the pack bunched up in the early laps.
333 Wood then spun on turn 3, with 21 Fray also spinning, as 3 Witcomb took the
lead. 20 Fry and 23 Boulton gave chase, with Boulton catching Fry to challenge
for second before dropping back a little. 20 Fry then caught the backmarking 862
Carl Checkley, and went round his outside again allowing 23 Boulton to reduce
the gap. Boulton nearly got through on the inside, but 20 Fry found a bit more
power to hold onto his second place. Fry then reeled in the leading 3 Witcomb
and tried to go round his outside on the last bend, Witcomb just beating him to
the line in a close finish, to end some really good Rod racing.

Hill, 850, nof.
Final (10 cars): 212, 251, 130, 561, 157, 148, 636, 44, 850, 466.
157 Stuart McDonald headed the first heat, as 212 John Smith and 251 Lee Ribbans
made good progress from the back of the grid. 212 Smith moved through to second
and reeled in 157 McDonald. 251 Ribbans had a close battle with 466 Michael
Moore for third, as 212 Smith was on 157 McDonald’s rear bumper on the last lap.
McDonald drifted a little wide out of turn 2 after clipping the rumble strips,
allowing 212 Smith to nip up the inside and take the win.
157 McDonald again led the opening laps in the second heat, as 466 Moore tangled
with 636 Dean Chandler to ride the rumble strips on turn 1. 212 Smith again made
good progress through the field, to catch and pass 157 McDonald with three laps
to run for his second win of the day.
466 Moore led the Final, where the pit bend seemed a little slippery. This
caught out Moore and he spun on turn 2, handing the lead to 148 Dave Dewey, with
157 McDonald challenging and passing Dewey. 212 Smith, 251 Ribbans and 561 Keith
Wickens caught the front pair for a close battle for the lead. Wickens found a
way through up Dewey’s inside, with 212 Smith and 251 Ribbans following. 212
Smith then went past Wickens on the inside to take the lead, with 251 Ribbans
also going by to give chase. 130 Lee Rawlings also got amongst the leaders, with
212 Smith taking his hattrick and Rawlings just beating 561 Wickens to the line
to take third.

160 Jacques West headed the first heat, but spun on the pit bend. 84 Jack Ansell
took over, as 7 Jack Shepherd also spun on the pit bend to rip a rear tyre off
its rim. 50 Sian Watkins was going well and moving up the places, with 36 Callum
Croxon in pursuit. 160 West then spun on the back straight to collect 36 Croxon,
with 191 Perry Galloway also getting caught up, as 50 Watkins overhauled 84
Ansell to take the win.
160 West led the second heat, as 36 Croxon and 50 Watkins again made good
progress through the places. Croxon challenged Watkins by going up her inside on
turn 3, but then clashed with 191 Galloway, allowing 50 Watkins to move into
second place. Into the last bend Watkins tried to go up the inside of the
leading 160 West, but West held her off and took the win in a very close finish.

The line-up included 237 Gary Nash and 837 Pete Nash, both in Mk2 Trummys (the
latter an estate), returned from the Pre-70, and 192 Stu Warby in a used Mk2
Granny limo.
Heat 1 saw 10 Sam Topley spun into the infield blocks on the home straight, with
20 Andy Burbridge doing likewise on the back straight. 785 Keith Moore took a
jacking, as 233 Rob Aldridge followed in 303 Wayne Linsdell on turn 2, with 46
Wayne Packer fencing 124 John Chaplin. 785 Moore and 124 Chaplin met head-on
near the pit gate as 425 Martin Stopher took the win.
364 Sean Winchester spun 553 Gemma Nelson into the back straight fence, before
547 Tony McNeil steamed 192 Warby round the road bend. Warby and McNeil
collected a spun car on the back straight, which caused a pile up as the pack
crashed in, 433 Ben Smith taking the win.
The consolation was much livelier, with 215 Michael Croxon following in 329
Michael Carter, before 362 Mat Godden took in 188 John Reeves on turn 3, with
370 John Cobbold and 447 Sam Reynolds also involved. 224 Dave Canham was fenced
on turn 4, as 192 Terry Nightingale and 200 Wayne Holton met head-on on the back
straight. 761 Nat Cohn followed in 527 Michael Norman on the pit bend, although
Cohn got the worst of it, with Norman going on to hit 192 Nightingale head-on on
the home straight. This allowed 525 Wesley Starmer to dish out a big jacking to
Norman, before 370 Cobbold blitzed Nightingale hard. In the closing stages, 525
Starmer followed in 161 Karl Totham on turn 1, as 324 Mark Lathan claimed the
win, with just 5 cars going the distance.
The Final saw 37 Dave Lewis follow in 587 Alex Humphrey near the pit gate, with
117 Karl Dack further ramming Humphrey before taking a hit from 525 Starmer. 346
Scott Saunders spun on the back straight to take a big hit in the rear wing from
78 Lee Macey to spin him round again. The leading 425 Stopher collected
Saunders, with 131 Barry Wade taking over the lead, chased by 898 Andy Battle.
Into the last bend, Wade got caught up with 86 Alex Savage and 516 Carl Gould,
allowing 898 Battle to go through and steal the win.
The Accumulator started with 553 Nelson taking out 247 Lee Clarke, as 82 Wayne
Quinn leant 192 Warby into the fence. The spun 86 Savage took a hit from 516
Gould on the home straight, as 329 Carter attacked 841 Phil Jennings. 898 Battle
hit the stationary 433 Smith, with 285 Sean Dyer and 217 Neil Smyth also
crashing in, before a three car train made up of 370 Cobbold, 488 Duane Collings
and 682 Sparrow also crashed into 433 Smith. 46 Wayne Packer was then leant into
370 Cobbold as the pack went through on the inside, Packer tipping up onto two
wheels, as 545 Karl Hough claimed the flag. The DD commenced with 217 Smyth
being shoved into 120 Burbrige head-on by 82 Quinn, as 237 Nash met 37 Lewis
head-on. Nash took a jacking from 86 Savage, as a pile up formed on the exit of
turn 4, with 46 Packer getting hit by 898 Battle to slightly tip him up. 516
Gould jacked 237 Nash, as 10 Topley did likewise to 898 Battle. Battle then took
a T-bone from 370 Cobbold, Battle getting going again to hit 10 Topley. 682
Sparrow T-boned 516 Gould, with Battle giving Sparrow a head-on. 247 Clarke and
761 Nat Cohn met head-on, with 17 Nick Sweet weighing into Clarke. This left
just 5 cars, with the DD continuing on the home straight amongst the pile up,
with not much room to get up much speed. 761 Cohn and 516 Gould had a head-on,
Cohn then taking head-ons from both 247 Clarke and 682 Sparrow. 237 Nash then
fired up again to rejoin the event and T-boned 247 Clarke. The action moved
round to the pit bend where 761 Cohn hit 682 Sparrow, before Clarke and Sparrow
had a head-on. Clarke’s car stopped, leaving just 761 Cohn and 682 Sparrow, with
Cohn dishing out a big T-bone, Cohn’s car dying. 682 Sparrow decided to give
Clarke one more head-on for good measure, only for Clarke to get fired up again.
After a few more head-ons between the pair, Clarke’s car had a flash fire, and
with both cars not moving any further, a dead heat was awarded.

David Aldous, 401 Steve Webster, 86 Simon Royal, 512 Darren Barnett, 106 Jamie
Stafford, 490 Ian Jarman, 18 Jamie Clayton.
Heat 2 (27 cars): 311, 511 Craig Barnett, 219 Luke Grief, 115, 401, 18, 964 Ken
Peters, 499, 912 Andi Newman, 490.
Final (26 cars): 311, 18, 401, 106, 305 Nigel Parker, 115, 499, 428 Lee Sampson,
511, 912.
Dash for Cash (12 cars): 219, 305, 401, 115, 149, 311, 106, 18, nof.
A good turnout of Saloons including long distance travellers 10 Frank Little Jnr,
964 Ken Peters and World Champion 401 Steve Webster, plus regular Banger driver
148 Ian Redden on his debut.
Heat 1 was run on an overwatered track, leading to a number of early spin-outs,
especially on the pit bend. 401 Webster hooked out 360 Carl Waterfield to put
him into the fence on turn 3, as 27 Roy Fuller and 420 Ivan Street traded hits.
499 David Aldous shoved 511 Craig Barnett aside, as early leader 311 Steve
Newman went on to take the win.
The second heat again saw the pit bend a little slippery to cause problems for a
number of drivers in the opening laps. 964 Peters took an early lead, as 360
Waterfield collected the fence hard on turn 2. 311 Newman took over the lead,
chased by 293 Nick Houghton. Newman was forced wide round a spun car on the exit
of turn 4, allowing Houghton to take the lead on the inside. 111 Darryl Goddard
hit the back straight fence hard, before 293 Houghton spun on the back straight,
311 Newman retaking the lead to record win number two.
311 Newman dropped back down the order in the opening laps of the Final, as a
big turn 2 shunt saw 106 Jamie Stafford and 912 Andi Newman ride up the fence,
the latter collecting a post. The pack continued down the back straight to have
a huge shunt into the pit bend with cars pointing in all directions, with 420
Street coming out in the lead chased by 311 Newman. 964 Peters was left stranded
on the back straight to get hit by the pack, before 305 Nigel Parker was leant
towards Peters, but managed to avoid a big crash and just clipped him. 311
Newman overhauled 420 Street, with 18 Jamie Clayton in pursuit, but into the
last bend Clayton failed to put in the bumper and Newman took his hattrick.
The Dash for Cash saw 311 Newman take an early lead, as 18 Clayton spun out. 512
Darren Barnett moved up to second, as 511 Barnett was well down the order and
started going slow to wait for Newman to catch him. Meanwhile, 512 Barnett lost
his place after trying to take out 86 Simon Royal on turn 4 to put himself hard
into the fence. 311 Newman caught 511 Barnett on the road bend, Barnett trying
to lean him out wide, before spinning him on the back straight. As the pair
bounced out of the fence, Barnett clipped the passing 499 Aldous, who was about
to take the lead, Aldous spinning headlong into the fence. 106 Stafford then
took over the lead, with 219 Luke Grief giving chase, and Grief put in the
bumper into turn 3 to force Stafford wide for the lead, Grief going on to take
the win and end a very eventful race.

a stoppage. 366 Naughton headed the restart, as 353 Jack Licquorice collected
the fence on turn 2, before pulling across the track to get collected by 351
Lewis Byron and hit the infield blocks. Newcomer 304 Joe Parker was spun on the
back straight, as 366 Naughton took the flag. 370 Kyle Overy followed him over
the line, but was dropped a place for jumping the restart.
The second heat saw 328 Craig Banwell and 381 Craig Upson clash and spin off
turn 4, causing a pile up. This cleared, before 370 Overy was spun into the
infield blocks on the home straight, as 304 Parker was shunted down the home
straight. 353 Licquorice hit the pit gate, as 355 Sid Madgwick spun into the
fence on turn 3. 384 Jacob Foster and 327 Micky Maskell Jnr also hit the infield
blocks, as 349 Todd Payne took the win.

317 Bryson Walker spun on the pit bend, and turned round to rejoin right in the

finish in all three races.

Jan Keijzer and H482 Peter van den Bosch.
Heat 1 was headed by Ministox graduate 446 Joe Booth, before he was caught by
105 Chris Bonner and 11 Neil Scriven. This trio went three abreast down the home
straight, with Booth on the outside and Bonner in the middle, and they went
straight on into turn 1 to tangle and hit the fence. 11 Scriven took the lead,
with 218 Derek Fairhurst and 170 Mark Helliwell soon challenging him. 305 Carlos
Perez then swept through on the inside, followed by 21 Mark Gilbank, Perez going
on to take the flag. 1 Stuart Smith Jnr dished out a successful last bend hit to
218 Fairhurst. 305 Perez, however, failed the post race weighing to be
disqualified, handing the win to 21 Gilbank.
460 Chris Cooke visited the turn 1 fence early in the second heat, as 391 Andy
Smith and 515 Frankie Wainman Jnr made quick progress through the field. 6 Phil
Perkins collected the fence hard on turn 1, as 8 Mick Harris took the lead. 391
Smith hit Harris wide to take over, with 322 James Neachell then challenging
Harris for second. Harris held him off for a couple of laps before Neachell went
by followed by 515 Wainman. Wainman hit Neachell wide to move into second, with
8 Harris also going inside the 322 car. 391 Smith went on for the win.
446 Booth set the pace in the consolation, as 260 Dave Berresford pulled onto
the infield in a cloud of smoke (having done this in his heat also). 484 Craig
Utley hooked up with 16 Matt Newson to crash into the inner armco, as 305 Perez
passed Booth for the lead. However, Booth got his front bumper hooked up with
Perez’s rear, the pair getting free again on turns 3 and 4, with Booth putting
up a determined fight on the next bend as he nerfed Perez wide to retake the
lead. Perez came back to spin Booth, the latter unfortunately stalling after
putting in such a good drive, as Perez went on to take the win.
1 Smith and 515 Wainman swapped hits early in the Final, as 391 Smith moved
through the field at speed. 8 Harris soon led the field as 1 Smith spun 218
Fairhurst on turn 1 and then shunted 259 Paul Hines into turn 3. With around 3
laps to run, 391 Smith bumpered 8 Harris wide and went past on turn 1. 195 Dean
Whitwell spun on turn 1 in the closing stages as 391 Smith took his second win
of the afternoon.
The National started again with 1 Smith and 515 Wainman trading hits as H482 van
den Bosch clipped the fence on turn 1. 16 Newson spun 434 Ivan Pritchard on turn
4 as 1 Smith tracked 515 Wainman for a number of laps. 484 Utley led for much of
the way and took the win, while 1 Smith launched a thundering last bend hit on
515 Wainman, shunting him into 105 Chris Bonner. Bonner went hard into the fence
on turn 4, with Wainman also going in, as 1 Smith went through on the inside to
claim 7th.

GN (17 cars): 732, 700, 186, 677, 886, 469 Ian Chalkley, 15, 761, 349, 383.
The first heat saw 59 Lee Dimmick have a very smoky car, before 180 Danny Ward
tangled with 728 Carl Pilkington on the back straight. Ward went over
Pilkington’s front wheel to roll onto his side and slide along the track before
trying to come back down on all fours, but he ended with his back wheel on top
of the fence. The race was halted, with 213 Lee Fairhurst leading the restart.
700 Adam Rubery spun off turn 4, clipping the passing 152 Mick Sworder to nearly
take him out. A turn 1 tangle saw 677 Chris Roots wreck his wheel, as 299
Stephen Smith took over the lead, and 152 Sworder overhauled 213 Fairhurst to
move into second. However, Sworder clipped a backmarker on the home straight to
lose ground, allowing 886 Chris Bradbury to close, with Bradbury shoving Sworder
wide on turn 3. Sworder came back to retake second with a big hit into turn 1,
as 299 Smith went on for the win.
The second heat was soon headed by 213 Fairhurst, as 152 Sworder again made good
progress in the early laps. 186 George Turiccki was hit hard by 732 Daz Kitson
into turn 3, Turiccki recovering to hit 469 Ian Chalkley hard into turn 1 to
spin him out and cause a four car pile up. 152 Sworder got up to third, before
retiring to the infield with mechanical problems, and he failed to race again.
On the last lap, 700 Rubery hit 213 Fairhurst wide into turn 1, the pair side by
side down the back straight. Fairhurst tried to cut into turn 3 and hit Rubery
on the apex of the bend, but Rubery held on to take the chequered.
213 Fairhurst again set the early pace in the Final, but he was soon caught and
passed by 522 Chris Mikulla. 886 Bradbury battled with 299 Smith as the race
settled down. 522 Mikulla went on to take the win, while on the last lap 469
Chalkley put in the bumper hard on 299 Smith into turn 1 to send him into the
fence, and then hit 677 Roots even harder into the last bend, the pair hitting
the fence on turn 4 with Chalkley breaking his wheel. Roots hit Chalkley back
after they had taken the chequered.
The National was a very quiet race with 732 Kitson coming through to take up the
running and going on to take the win.

Lee Summers. 131 Kevin Stuchbury made quick progress through the field and went
on to claim the win.
A better Heat 2 commenced with 575 Darren Cottrill getting into a tangle on turn
2 with another car to cause a small pile up, which cleared apart from leaving
147 Colin Taylor hooked up with 216 Reg Smith. 473 Chris Bracher came through to
take the lead, chased by 161 Mark Allen. Into the last lap, Allen hit Bracher
wide to take over the lead, Bracher coming back on the last bend to bumper Allen
out wide and take the win. After the chequered, Allen then nerfed Bracher into
the fence on turn 1 causing him to crash into the stationary 147 Taylor, Allen
being taken out of the result as a consequence of his actions and losing his
second place.
The Final started with 373 Rob Hartley and 184 Boswell getting into a tangle as
167 Dougie Bracher made the early running. 355 Bryan Andrew hooked up with 42
Rob Barber to hit the fence on turn 3, as 179 Richard Arrowsmith spun out with
216 Smith nearby. 201 Martin Baker clattered into the stationary 373 Hartley on
turn 3, as 131 Stuchbury and 575 Cottrill had a close scrap and traded places.
Eventually, Stuchbury hit Cottrill hard into turn 1 to send him fencewards,
Cottrill recovering to hit 473 Bracher wide. Meanwhile 131 Stuchbury set about
reeling in the still leading 167 Bracher to dish out a last bend hit and take
his second win of the afternoon.
The National was rather tame, with 167 Bracher soon leading and he went on to
take the chequered.

Hednesford, it was decided to split the field and run two-thirds heats. Heat 1
started with 77 Tom Hertzog crashing headlong into the fence on turn 1 causing
an immediate stoppage, Hertzog emerging from his car unscathed. The restart was
initially headed by 324 Mitchell Peall, before he spun off turn 4, 151 Dylan
Williams taking over ahead of 91 Joshua Smith and 226 Billy Webster. 7 Ollie
Hertzog then spun on turn 4 and hit the inner barrier hard to cause another
stoppage. The restart saw 91 Smith bumper 151 Williams wide to take the lead,
Williams coming back to T-bone Smith out wide on turn 2, with 211 Jack Aldridge
then spinning Williams to take over the lead. 91 Smith T-boned Williams in the
front wheel to spin him round on the back straight. 304 Jamie Conway then had to
take avoiding action to miss Williams, and careered hard into the side of the
winner’s ramp to wreck the front of his Mini, as 211 Aldridge took the
chequered.
The second heat was headed by 324 Peall, as 80 Jake Hall made fast progress. 48
Faye Smith spun on turn 2, eventually causing the yellow flags to come out. The
restart saw 80 Hall leading and he broke away from the chasing pack, leaving 322
Georgia Neachell, 211 Aldridge and 11 Andrew John Thompson to fight over second.
Aldridge bumpered Neachell wide into turn 4 to pass, Neachell coming back on the
next bend to hit him wide, allowing 11 Thompson to go through. Aldridge
recovered and bumpered Thompson hard into turn 1 to send him into the fence to
move back into third. 80 Hall went on for the win, while 211 Aldridge reeled in
322 Neachell and tried a last bend hit, but just missed.
The third heat was soon headed by 80 Hall, as 226 Webster and 322 Neachell
fought over second, Hall going on for his second win of the day in a much
quieter race.
324 Peall led the Final but soon went fencebound on turn 1 to cause a stoppage.
This lasted just one lap before 295 Shane Clifford collected the inner armco for
another stoppage. 80 Hall led the restart, as 322 Neachell was bundled out on
turn 2, causing her to retire to the infield. 226 Webster caught 80 Hall and put
in a big hit into turn 3 to half spin him, Webster taking over the lead. 151
Williams and 91 Smith traded hits, as Webster went on to take the flag.

car in the fresh MkX Jag in the hands of 311 Gary Lown.
The Memorial race was first with three of the Mob tangling from the start to end
on the infield. 397 Sandell nicely jacked 86 Charlie Haller on the home
straight, with 742 Ian Gregory weighing into Sandell to spin him on turn 1,

his steering, allowing 397 Sandell to blitz him down the home straight. 292
Saunders attacked 791 Young on turn 4 in the battle of the limos, with 225 Bull
hitting Saunders on the home straight to take a jacking from 742 Gregory. 33

The first Allcomers saw a big pile up on the power station bend, with 311 Lown

with 86 Haller also involved. 397 Sandell then thundered 516 Carl Gould hard
into turn 1, Gould recovering from this to jack 791 Young on the back straight
and get stuck in the limo’s rear wheel arch. 474 Matty Threlkeld led for much of
the way to take the chequered.
Allcomers 2 had a depleted field, with 51 Heilds spinning early on turn 4, where
he was attacked by 384 John Golden, the pair having a private DD on the infield,
despite the marshall’s best efforts to stop them. This continued for the rest of
the race with both drivers in trouble after the race for their actions.
Meanwhile, back on the track, 119 Davey Cox rammed 185 Polly Read, Read then
taking a jacking from 321 Andy Newton, as 474 Threlkeld claimed his second win
of the night.
Just 5 cars emerged for the DD, with 397 Sandell turning round from the off to
meet 274 Taylor head-on, 149 Bailey then hitting Sandell head-on. 572 Paul
Scully T-boned Bailey and then hit Taylor, before Taylor and 119 Cox had a
head-on. Cox shoved Taylor into the fence, and Scully met Bailey in a big
head-on on turn 1, stopping both cars in their tracks. Cox T-boned Taylor onto
the infield and hit him a couple more times to take the win.

of 611 Joe Geeves.
Two half car heats preceded the Memorial race, with 237 Adam Key fencing 178
Paul Robinson early in the first. 511 Helen Liquorice spun into the fence on
turn 1, as 178 Robinson hooked out 137 Jay Chilton, only to get blitzed hard by
779 Luke Allen, as 639 Paul Vines took the win.
A much better heat 2 started with 791 Young spinning 611 Geeves, the latter then
taking a hard T-bone from 60 Kyle Stevenson. 791 Young then spun into the fence
off turn 4, where he was T-boned by 60 Stevenson. 611 Geeves took a head-on from
253 Stephen Askham on turn 4, before taking another T-bone from the lively
Stevenson. 888 Jack Hills ran hard into 791 Young on the home straight, before
taking a T-bone from 525 Wesley Starmer. 553 Gemma Nelson spun on the home
straight, to take a big hit in the front wheel from the passing 79 Ricky Twell.
The race was halted with a couple of laps to run, as Nelson needed some
assistance, but thankfully she soon recovered with the result standing and 349
Michael Allard the winner.
The Memorial race saw 778 Brian Anderson get blitzed on turn 2 by 70 Anthony
Long and 60 Stevenson, as a turn 3 pile up formed after 611 Geeves was hit
head-on by 70 Long, with 312 Tom Reynolds crashing in behind. Reynolds was
wrecked by 137 Chilton, who had 511 Liquorice weigh into him, with Liquorice
getting totalled by 60 Stevenson. The latter was jacked by 128 Andy Lack, with
Lack then ramming the spun Stevenson on the infield. The track marshall was not
impressed and sent Lack on his way, as 66 Dave Ivatt was spun into the marker
tyres to wreck his back wheel. 88 Ash Burton attacked 247 Lee Clark as the
chequered dropped on 898 Andy Battle.
The Allcomers race was initially headed by 779 Allen before he was passed by 331
Barry Chilvers. 898 Battle reeled them in and forced his way past Chilvers on
the last bend for the win to end a rather quiet race.
The DD started with 180 Mark Foster spinning 176 Ady Gibbs on the road bend,
where he was blitzed by 70 Long into the fence. 808 Jason Buckland hooked out
611 Geeves, as 137 Chilton crashed hard into 70 Long, only to take a hard hit
from 180 Foster. 808 Buckland crashed into the growing pile up on turn 1, before
60 Stevenson followed 125 Nathan Lake into the pile up, Lake taking a huge
T-bone from 180 Foster. The red flags came out, with Lake eventually emerging
from his wreck. Just 4 cars were left for the restart, with 292 Saunders hitting
180 Foster and then 808 Buckland. Buckland then met 292 Saunders in a head-on on
the infield, and then again on turn 3. 60 Stevenson T-boned Buckland to be the
last running and take the win.

melee, handing the lead to 311 Steve Newman, who was debuting a brand new car.
However, he got caught up with 2 Paul Tuppen and the pair scuffed round the
fence on the home straight, allowing 420 Ivan Street to pass on the inside. 311
Newman got going again, to catch and pass Street to retake the lead, Street then
getting spun on the back straight by 761 James Morris. 219 Grief was fenced hard

his boot lid. 428 Lee Sampson fenced 417 Fred Powell on turn 3, as 311 Newman
went on for the win.
Heat 2 had a hectic start as the pack sorted itself out. A bundle into the road
bend then saw 149 Jamie Sampson spin out, as 328 Ian Govier tangled with 293
Nick Houghton exiting turn 2, sending Houghton into and up the plating. Houghton
rolled with 328 Govier T-boning him as he went over in a spectacular crash. The
race was able to continue with Houghton landing back on all fours and making it
to the infield, as 417 Powell repaid the hit to 428 Sampson into turn 3. The

in the pack off turn 2 and hit the marker tyres, as 369 Andy Santry squeezed 149
Sampson into the fence on turn 4. 328 Govier was another to spin into the marker

round. The leading 420 Street was overhauled by 311 Newman to take his second
win of the night, while 27 Roy Fuller dished out a last bend hit to 360 Carl
Waterfield for the minor places.
