21 - Suggestions for further reading

Two useful series of books for reading about specific topics in British archaeology are the Shire Series and the English Heritage/Batsford series. There is no book that covers the whole sequence. For archaeological techniques there is the book by Colin Renfrew and Paul Bahn: Archaeology. However, it covers much more than the archaeology of the British Isles. An alternative is Archaeology by Kevin Greene, another 'methods ansd techniques' book. For the Palaeolithic period in Wales a cheap and useful museum booklet published by the National Museum of Wales at £7.50 is Ice Age Hunters by Stephen Green and Elizabeth Walker and similar cheap publications can be found at other museums.
