glory of 14 new channels (we already had about 30 local 'trash' channels. Since then it evolved to

a D2-Mac motorized wide-screen system, though now I only have an analogue twin tuner usually set

to a News or a Radio channel on one TV in order to be able to "zap" on the other while I work on

my computer... Which brings us to my first Macintosh - a PowerMac 8500 A/V that, all of a sudden,

had built into it everything I'd been after for all those years, nearly, and it was 'love at first sight' !!!

I added a ZIP drive and a Yamaha CD burner, a second graphic card, a Matrox Millennium II,

and a miromotion DC30+ for video work - this was the beginning of a new era. - What could be

done machine was just amazing (at the time) and it just kept getting better. Since then I think there

have been very few days indeed I haven't actually spent between five and ten hours on a Mac ... and

that includes Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays etc. etc. - I've edited some of my work on professional

D-1 decks, and have come across Avid and Media100 systems more than once, but the cost of that

type of machinery for 'private' use has been always too prohibitive to have anything like that at home !
