ISMS Coat of Arms

ISMS Achievement 1973

Granted by the College of Art and Technology in 1973, the heraldic theme of the Institution’s coat of arms is its founding members.

The crest of a resplendent rhinoceros, is a reference to our esteemed President’s name. The book and quill pen symbolise the Institution’s desire to record only genuine isms. The rampant pig, or prize boar, honours the current Chairman & Chief Executive. The locked castle tower under an eastern crown pays homage to the original keeper of the ISMS database - the Prince of East Segiston.

The Institution's motto ‘Back to Quo Vadis’ expresses the President’s desire to maintain the status quo.
