The ISMS has adopted strict criteria for its Award scheme.
About 98% of applications for our Awards fail initial evaluation because they do not meet our basic criteria - especially criterion #1.
* * * Please only apply if you can comply with our criteria! * * *
Before applying for an Award you should read the following criteria and also review our Award Aims and Rating system and perhaps review our top tips. You must also read the terms associated with your application, and you may wish to read the ethics we have adopted for evaluation.
There are only about 23 items is the following list and if you are asking our evaluator to spend an hour or more evaluating your site and preparing your Award graphic and so on, surely you can take a few minutes to read the criteria just to make sure you don't fall at the first hurdle?

Your site will not even be considered for an ISMS Award if: |

1 |
it does not deal, broadly, with wordplay or humour of the spoken/written word |
|
2 |
it contains adult, pornographic, hateful, hurtful, illegal, sexist or racist material |
|
3 |
it has unnecessary or irritating pop-up windows not relevant to the host site |
|
4 |
it has pages that scroll down and down forever, without a back to top facility |
|
5 |
you write anything but porky in the box asking why you want to win an Award |
|
6 |
you tick the box that says 'I have not complied with the ISMS criteria' |
|
7 |
it does not contain at least 5 pages of good quality, original content |
|
8 |
it is not in the English language or cannot be easily translated on line |
|
9 |
it takes longer than 2 minutes to completely access your home page |
|
10 |
you tick all the application form boxes, including the one noted in 6 above |
|
11 |
it does not appear to us that regular updates are undertaken |
|
12 |
it has private, 'members only' or password restricted areas |
|
13 |
it cannot be accessed by us after 3 separate attempts |
|
14 |
it does not have a privacy policy or privacy statement |
|
15 |
it has errors leading to frequent crashes or freezing |
|
16 |
you have not read and complied with these criteria |

17 |
it has background music that cannot be turned off |
|
18 |
it has an invalid URL or an invalid e-mail address |
|
19 |
you cannot agree to our terms of application |
|
20 |
it contains broken internal or external links |
|
21 |
it mainly consists of links to other web sites |
|
22 |
it mainly consists of unrelated advertisements |
|
23 |
you are under the age of 18 |
